Re: thoughts on a Spyderco Machete

The Darn DAO might be our best hope. I would be tickled to have a LC200N machete being so tough and rust proof. A jungle machete that won’t rust is a cool thing. Sell it as a kit where you can buy scales sheath and hardware for it or make your own handle like the Mule project would be a great way to...

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

Thanks. So the perfect “machete” would have the serrated “Scythe” on the concave side and plain edge on the convex side for the traditional chopping strokes. So we need a bi directional machete handle and some magic fairies to whisper in Sals ear as he sleeps. 🤣

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

I'm happy to see my Frankenwhale knife featured in this thread! Here's another picture: https://i.imgur.com/woQ5pib.jpeg The handle (peel-ply orange G1) was done by Knockwood Blades and the blade tip was reprofiled by bladechops (or so he goes on instagram). I’d love to get your input on how you th...

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

So what you want is a Spyderco Machete? With teeth? that would be super cool. A Spyderco Machete WOULD be cool indeed, but with teeth?! .. even I as an SE guy think Sal was rather kidding with the "teeth" part - ?! (unless those teeth are perhaps on the spine, additionally to the main Mac...

Re: Another run of Whale Rescue Blade is needed.

It especially would be good if the serrations were canted off towards the handle as to grip the fibers better. LC200N would be my choice of steel. https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-4zahyhmy/images/stencil/2048x2048/products/399/582/Spyderco_Whale_Rescue_Blade_BWRSH1_Blade_Only_H1_Stainless_Steel_Hollo...

I don’t have a noble purpose, I just want to make a modified machete.

I think using a dremel with diamond bits will work without heating up too much. I just dip in cool water if you feel getting too warm.

Re: MT40P – HIC Mule Team Dropping Soon!

This is knife history being made. A major knife maker is using a ceramic that can be used as a viable EDC knife. I think to ensure some people don’t use these as cry bars, perhaps a salt slip joint would make the most sense especially since it would be least potentially damaging “locking” mechanism...

I can hear the whining now…. “I should have gotten a ceramic mule”. Bonus is, if there are catastrophic failures, it just makes the others more rare and valuable 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just incase nobody has said this but thank you for getting this started! :hugging-face :cheap-sunglasses I’m just a yahoo with a key...

I may be wrong, but maybe they just have not been put up for sale yet. Best call the factory. Maybe flipping the sheaths will be where the real money is 🤣🤣🤣
