Re: How often do you wear blue jeans?

I wear them most of the time, typically various Wrangler models or various Aramark brands (they're one of the few places I can get a 27" inseam. Been looking at some of the few brands that make them here in the US, but the boutique pricing is basically the only thing keeping me from doing so. A...

Re: 3D printing sheaths?

Since I don't have access to a 3D printer (and no libraries around here have them), I'll likely have to use Shapeways. What plastic should I use?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Magnacut Mule and Zome Dragonfly Webp.net-resizeimage(8).jpg My Magnacut Mule set unused since it was launched due to me not having bought handles or finding a suitable sheath. I bought the Mule to be used, and be my work knife, so I had to find a sheath. Hadn't bought one yet, so I raided my sheath...

Re: dragonfly bottom of pocket carry

I lost a screw to my Byrd Robin 2 (which is similar) with the stainless handle when swapping the clip to left-handed carry, and just decided to try clip-less carry.

Carried quite well.

Klein Tools 44004; which appears to be their version of Moki's MK-K007. These are really good for the money ($30-ish), and quality is great. 3.5" closed, which is just right for a compact folder. I wanted a one-hand open PE hawkbill, and this checked every box at a price I could afford. And wa...

Re: What steels do you have the most of?

The majority of my collection is traditional folders. I think 1095, with an unofficial count, is most common.

If we're talking Spyderco, it's VG-10.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

You know, since I got the Jester, I've found it's good for 3/4 of what I do. The blade shape, for big jobs, seems superior to the Ladybug's. Hoping that it gets the M4 treatment with a Blade HQ exclusive. I'm really liking the looks of the St. Nicks exclusive coming up. Needs to be a regular catalog...

Re: Model request : Pry-Byrd - specialised knife w/ blade for light prying

I have some rounded tip EMT-style knives. They're really weird in EDC. I love an electrician's knife because of its locking secondary screwdriver blade. I own over a dozen, mostly from American makes (especially Camillus--which accounts for about half). But, I'm not a fan of the liner lock (a few co...

Re: Anybody Else into 3D Printing?

I see a lot of miniatures and such on Shapeways, but the prices are insane--more than many production/ready-made small-scale models, and most of these 3D printed models require assembly and paint. The files to produce them are pretty inexpensive (and regularly free). So, what would be a good entry-l...

It was on the main page slider when I logged onto the Spyderco website a few moments ago. Seems like it's now been pulled.

I'm using Firefox on PC.

Re: 2022 Spyderco Product Guide - Now Live!

Definitely that Magnacut Native. While I won't really know until I have the MT35 in my possession, and have used it a bit, I have an idea Magnacut may become my go-to steel. However, you might want to have a look at the mainpage photo: https://www.spyderco.com/wp-content/uploads/2022-Product-Guid-we...

Re: Favorite small spyderco

Currently, GITD 20CV Jester tied with hawkbill Ladybug Salt--these are also a pretty great pair together. I'm thinking about adding a K390 Manbug or Ladybug. The Ladybug Salt Hawkbill can take on jobs a big folder will struggle with effortlessly. I'm a little odd, but I consider the Dragonfly on the...

Thanks! That means that the sheath should work, especially given that one, the blade will go down further in the sheath, and secondly, it's not as wide as I thought.

Mule Team Blade Width?

I have a question for those of you who have Mule Teams already--how wide is the blade? I don't see it in the official specs. I plan to pick up an inexpensive, generic sheath for "blades under four inches" as a temporary sheath before I make my own, and most I find say "fits blades und...

Re: Who got a Maggie mule? (Magna Cut)

This one, MT35 will be my first. It's going to be one heck of a test mule. I have been meaning to learn how to shape and fit handle scales, and make a sheath. It will probably start as paracord wrap and an inexpensive "one size fits most with this blade length" sheath so that it can be car...

Re: MT35P - CPM MagnaCut Mule Team - Release Date

Hey, it worked! I've been trying to get a Mule Team twice. I will admit I sat out on the last one because of low toughness.

And ironically, one year to the date from last year's seconds sale.

This will be my first Spyderco fixed blade, in a steel I'm really excited to try.

Re: Spyderco "Christmas Miracle"

I lost a Leatherman Bond (relatively new model that they came out with this summer; similar to the old PST) at the dump about a month and a half ago. The garbage bag had caught the clip, and the clip must have punctured the bag and gotten hung, as it was launched into the dumpster. This made me more...
