I live in California, where the laws specifically disallow carry of a "dirk" or "dagger". Since Spyderco advertises this knife as the "quintissential dirk" in all of their literature, I think it is safe to say it is illegal for carry in CA, even though the false edge is...

Titaniumnitride coatings are particle coatings applied in a vacuum chamber. There is Black, Gold, Champagne (Buck Knives) and maybe other colors. There are also slightly different forumlations IIRC. Titanium "coloring" can be done through the anodizing process, with different colors emergi...

Anodizing is essentially a process of oxidation through the application of electricity. In aluminum, it has well documented benefits. I can't imagine that it make a d*** bit of difference in Titanium.

Hey Clipiteer, can you please reduce the size of your jpeg sig line? Geez, I guess you like to have people scrolling and scrolling, especially when you post multiple times in one thread.

Some consideration please.

Hey guys, I know of a brick & mortar store in Oklahoma that a fellow forumite turned me onto. I know he has some black-bladed Delica and Endura knives. Not my area of interest. The store is Knives & More. You can reach Ken (a good guy and Spyderco dealer) at knivesandmore@sbcglobal.net Good ...

The Mouse is an excellent buy at that price. There aren't many blades of that size with that power and very secure grip. However, if you are thinking of buying a Mouse, you should also consider the Dragonfly. The Dragonfly blade is thinner and is flat ground. Depends on the type of cutting you will ...

I saw one for sale on either Bladeforums or Knifeforums this morning. Go to both and do a search for Goddard in the last week, and I am sure you will find it. Whether it is sold already or not is another matter.

One thing not mentioned so far specifically to the Calypso model. It is less expensive to do an "experimental" or test run in a phenolic (like Micarta) which is cut from slabs and shaped, than it is to do a test run in FRN. FRN (and Zytel) require expensive molds to be machined. So althoug...

Spyderco Standard, old style with the stamped clip.

I bought it at a Hoffritz Cutlery Store on closeout. I thought it looked "cool". I didn't get another Spydie after that for 10 years (the next one was a Jot Singh Khalsa).

Well, it's not a wave, but the extra large (14.5mm) spyderhole on the Chinook is a real treat. Re: Perrin - A 5 inch knife is great in the kitchen and in the camp, but otherwise, I can't imagine carrying that much steel on a regular basis. "Chance favors the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur
