Thank for clearing all of this up for us Mike! It is not uncommon for American made goods to use Metric fasteners. My American made cars are a good example.


Deacon! Whitworth, We are showing our age. I had forgotten all about those English sizes until you mentioned them.

So the offshore made madels have metric screw sizes. Do the Golden made models use standard sizes?

The Stretch is my 3rd favorite spyderco behind the Delica and Endura as Deacon said the ergos are beter than the other 2 but, I prefer the Delica Endura they carry better for me in the pocket. They have a slightly slimmer profile I feel. The Stretch would make a great knife for your intended use. IM...

I would say the old standby VG10 since the majority of spydercos use this steel. I know it is not very Geewiz but it is the spyderco benchmark standard steel.
