Re: Regrinding the Nirvana?

Scotchbrite is what some knife makers use to satin finish blades

The beast blast isn't helping - if you run a finer finish, you'll run into less corrosion issues - and doesn't involve a regrind

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I do notice gritomatic suggesting that you lap their bonded diamond stones - how does one do that and why is it needed?

Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?

Are you guys serious about this? Is it that dangerous to go shopping where you live? Depends on where a person lives and in what area of town the store is in. Were I live it is generally not too bad, not as safe as it was 25 years ago, but still not like Baltimore City or Chicago... YET.... Used to...

Re: Any info on why the GB 2 is unobtanium right now?

The 2 is nice, but kinda generic, if that could be said about a spyderco - the original with the choil and negative blade angle looks awesome to use - maybe a run with non CF inlays (micarta or g10)

Re: Dragonfly 2 vs Urban

The dragonfly is slightly skinnier than the urban, and the blade is slightly shorter - yes it's not as hand filling, but it's fine for tasks you'll use the df2 for

The df2 offers more grip options than the pingo for me

The df2 carries smaller in the pocket

The Mantra 2 was a great option as the skinny delica - kinda wish spyderco did more slim profile platforms

HAP40 was in the low 60s

Im guessing M4 wasn't even on the radar

What other steels would cut higher on the fine edge retention? Vancron superclean?

Where do you live that going to Wal Mart puts you at risk of being attacked?

Field engineer for construction projects - I have other people to the cutting for me. An urban is perfect and aptly named

Re: Going against the grain

Bearing pivots - yay, more surface area for stuff to collect in! The CF over G10 material - just give me a solid piece of either There is a time and place for thick blades folders, provided the rest of the knife is made for it - I'm not saying extrema ratio style - but there's room for idiot proof k...

Leave it alone!

It's why new BMW cars have gotten softer - people like the idea of the performance, but don't actually like the rawness

Between the PM2/para 3 and the police 4 - is there one you prefer ? Does one enhance k390 properties more ? (I guess it doesn't matter if one thinks the police 4 is too big of a knife)

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

So k390, maxamet, and 15v all take more aggressive edges than m4, but are still "tough enough" for typical folder use?
I hope bladehq/dlt/whomever does a 15v or 10v exclusive set, then
On that note - can't wait for the 3B collab

The topic required a little research! DMT stones were the first of its kind I do believe. They’ve patented their process of developing their products. Via how its made SCI/DSC network the diamond dust is put on steel plates and are embedded into the steel by scientific process making a permanent bo...

Calypso Jr - was affordable when it came out, vg10, thin full flat grind, great handle ergonomics - everything Spyderco represented in a nice "starter" package
