I'm looking for excellence.
It may be in design, it may be in craftmanship, but someone has to be doing his or hers very best.

Smooth CF takes a nice polish if you use MicroMesh.
But whatever you decide to do, keep that Dremel away from your knives.

Thanks Doc. A traditional Saami knife and Ray Mears explanation is spot on, as usual. In Scandinavia it is quite common for a knifemaker to buy the blades. They can vary from clean looking, stock-removal stainless to roughly looking forged carbonsteel blades, sometimes in a three layer construction....

Those are fine numbers Paul. The best are in the custom knife field. Most manufacturers don't go that far. Fearing complaints of their customers who abuse their blades. I have only one folder with a thinner edge and that is made by Andre Thorburn. It measures 0.3 mm and is almost razorlike. Not the ...

Piet.S, Thanks for your commentary, that's why I expect. It's just a quick draw about some design idea that I have. I know nothing about knives designing. The next time, I'll try to do something functional but it's hard. You're welcome. If I may suggest, think of it this way. http://i113.photobucke...

Visually very pleasing designs. But the pivots are in the wrong place. Both of them can not be made as they are now, if ever. You must also make drawings with the knives closed and the internals in place. Like the lockbar, spring and backspacer. Also the grind of the top one is impossible to make as...

That could work, bushcraft style blades are popular among amateur knifemakers.
The only real problem I see is the price.
It is very tough to compete with Enzo blades, which costs 40/70 Euro's and are of good quality.

It's not a bad idea. Fallkniven does it. http://www.fallkniven.com/en/shop/category/26/blades If it's just for the joy of knifemaking, there are many blades available. From cheap to absolutely stunning. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n202/Piet-S/gustavsson-92.jpg (blades by Johan Gustafsson)

Hardness will be effected when you reach tempering temperatures.
Roughly 200 degrees Celcius, about 390 Fahrenheit.

Thank you, yes I had a fine day.
No worries Tony, I drink for the taste, not to get loaded.

And on top of it all, my cousins wife gave birth to a healthy son.
It's a good day to be born on, the 7th.

This is perfect for any framelock (Chris Reeve Integral Lock).
This way it has a lot of room for future wear and will serve you safe for a long time.

True, your folder can be a one-hand-opener or have a lock.
But not both.
The UK FRN lightweight is a very capable knife, if I may recommend.

I have been shooting for some time, long ago.
Got a Samick SMT9 recurve.
Shot if first with 32 lbs. and later with 38 lbs. limbs.
I earned myself a 1000 star on a FITA round, 1009 points.

Wonderful sport, it takes devotion and a lot time but it's beautiful.
Enjoy it.
