Why a convex edge? How will this improve the knife?

Spyderco Province FB45GP
This knife hits all the right buttons for me. It falls in line with what I feel a fixed blade you are going to use should feel like. Excellent balance. Handle feels great. This knife just screams use me and I will. It is a big knife. I am excited. Cant wait to check out the steel. I will check back ...

Re: Just ordered some Nano Oil *cough snake oil cough*
Make your own oil.
Half motor oil, half ATF.
1/3 Motor oil, 1/3 ATF, 1/3 Marvels Mystery oil.
Go crazy and use synthetic for your blends.
Save thousands on oil....LOL

Re: The Never Ending Appeal Of The Old School Spyders
I love my old Spyders. I have a few classics around that I would keep forever.
I also love the new stuff. Like SurfGringo said Spyderco has been hitting them out of the park lately.

Re: How often do your preferences change?
I like to try out new folders. Yet, the Paramilitary seems to always end up back in my pocket. I also tend to carry the Pacific salt a lot. Those 2 folders seem to be my most carried for years now. I gave my Pacific salt to my son last summer when he was working for a rafting company, so really most...

I love the slick handle of the 20CV version. It keeps my pockets from getting ruined. I have to say it is one of the finest production knives I have ever owned. Just a slick piece of hardware!

Re: Vintage Military
My 2 screw landed this morning. A couple of hours of cleaning and getting the corrosion off and she came out very good. I completely disassembled the knife. I had to use naval jelly to get some rust off. I think the knife was just neglected as it appears to have the factory edge and it is razor shar...

Re: Vintage Military
I am always on the look out for old Military's. This is one model that has really stood the test of time. I have been on the look out for a 2 screw clip model for literally years and always seem to miss them. I am always a day late and a dollar short. Until this week, when I found a used one for pre...

Back to the original thread...
I got my Respect today and what a fantastic piece. It just checks all the right boxes. The size is perfect. It feels perfect in the hand.
Amazing craftsmanship!
Sheath is a perfect match.
All in all this blade gets a 10 out of 10 on my BladeOmeter!

Re: You're So Jaded...
I know the feeling. In 2005 when I first started hitting the knife forums I was out of control in a good way. It was fun. I am still a knife guy and still enjoy a good thread, but mostly I feel like I have been there done that. So many threads are the same. I think I have seen the same thread only s...

Re: What Could Profoundly Improve The 204 Sharpmaker?
I think the Sharpmaker is perfect because of its simplicity.
The idea of making it adjustable angle is intriguing, but I think that should be a different model and keep the sharp maker the way it is.
I also would like a coarser stone.

Re: Respect Bowie short feedback
I picked one up and it should be here this week.
This knife really spoke to me. Just the old school aesthetic. Once I saw the sheath, I was so sold. Love the tuck in the waistband sheath. Plus I am a fixed blade Junkie. I consider fixed blades real knives and folders not so much.
