The flipper isn't mounted to the circle of the tang. I think you are visualizing the geometry incorrectly.

I don't believe the stop pin would get in the way, given its position. If you take a look at this picture, A flipper right at the edge of the choil wouldn't interfere with the stop pin at all.

What Spyderco lock types would work with a flipper?

I was thinking about flippers today, with the massive number of people posting pictures of their Dominos, and also thinking about the fact that I am not particularly crazy about framelocks. Benchmade did an Axis lock flipper recently, and while I don't personally like the ergos of the knife at all, ...

Sage4 technically doesn't have a back lock, my friend. It's what you'd call a front lock. They're pretty much the same idea though, so I see where you're coming from. And I agree that the Buck 110 combo on the Chap would be pretty slick. I'd absolutely pick one up. Actually, "my friend", ...

If it's anything like the blue bone damascus endura in person, I'm not really interested at all. That thing just looked TOO busy, too much going on. There's decoration and then there's gaudiness - I think the combination of the colored, textured bone, bolsters, and huge damascus blade push it into t...

They just need a wire clip and they would be amazing.

The clip/lanyard hole combination is the only downside of this knife, IMHO.

Erm... The sage 4 is a back lock already, with bolsters and wood handles. Given that the Sage series is meant to pay tribute to LOCKING MECHANISMS and not handle materials, it seems silly to double up on backlocks. Now, if you wanted to do that same combo in the chapparal, which is all about gentlem...

the most likely cause of that is what is referred to as an example of "lies told to children". When you are introducing a subject it is often simplified to the point that some of the information is no longer strictly true (there is no Santa Claus Charlie Brown). (been on the road for a fe...

I THINK that's just a tab on a protective plastic covering, to make it easy to grab and remove. You can see what look like bubbles in the other end of the handle as well.

A CF Para2 sold for pretty dang near that much recently. People are nuts.

I'll wait for the Fluted CF version that has been teased at recent knife shows.

Let them get to this point organically, knowing it is something you don't approach casually. Especially on a really nice knife as a first pass 'let's see how this goes?' You're definitely correct, but I've been outright attacked and accused of destroying a good knife by "knife newbies" on...

Caly 3 Damascus or ZDP-189. Both look classy as **** in Carbon Fiber.

Alternatively, I've found the Lum Chinese, preferably in Nishijin glass fiber, to be a great looking dress knife.
