Re: I will now EDC a Jumpmaster 2 for 1 year

Have you tried a Manix 2 XL or a C95 Manix? They have a hook at the end of the handle, but it's only useful once you get it opened.

Re: I will now EDC a Jumpmaster 2 for 1 year

I inner waist band carry either a Fusion or a Doc Pinkerton wharnie when I'm on Self Defense carry. The Fusion came cord wrapped and the cord irritates my skin. I wonder if you'll end up smoothing out some of the handle. I thought H1 toughness was supposed to be off the charts. It could be compressi...

Re: Runners and knives

I used to use a UKPK in CPM S30V IWB for running. I think it worked very well. Never needed it.

Re: Yojimbo Love?

I watched a video where Mike said he wanted to make the original yojimbo 1 in a denim blue. I’d say just make that happen. Denim blue micarta with stonewashed blade and clip would be perfect. I like the blade and ergonomics and think that denim micarta and stonewashed would fit it well. The Yojimbo...

Re: My wife's knifes.

I'm also looking for a teal Delica for her if anyone knows where I might find one. I think the Delica might suit her hand size better and the thumb ramp will be easier to open. That Tiffany blue is her favorite color. If you have trouble finding a Teal Delica (I thought it was called blue) and you ...

This knife is surprisingly good. I like mine a lot, but don't seem to carry it as often as I should.

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing

I like colorful knives because they help me keep track of different steels when I have multiple versions of the same knife. I like being able to match the knives to my clothes, half the time to make them disappear and half the time to make them stand out. Same thing with shiny clip versus black clip...

Re: Coffee and Tea taste better out of certain mugs

I must be going on 10 years of drinking out of stainless steel (that sure does stain!). I don't imagine the flavor changes much from the cup. That's like the beer glasses with different shapes. Steel always flavors the coffee. I use one for travel and for hunting, but not for daily use. Well darn, ...

Great collections of blue, guys!
Thanks. It just so happens that I like S110V, K390, S90V and Seki models. All the sprints seem to be some shade of blue.

I'd like to show off some of the nicer blues. Somehow with all the shades of blues, it looks like the color gets washed out.

At 11 o clock, C28GFPE Dragonfly Nishijin /ZDP-189.
Old photo; no idea what it was about and why that one is the middle?

That's a pretty cool photo. I'm glad you have that one. That's one of my most prized Dragonflies.

Re: Let’s see some blues

Some of these blues are tough to consider blue. Does Super Blue count? :D I have a glow in the dark back spacer on my techno. The one that looks black... is black, but it is blue lined. I have a few more that aren't pictured. I think I have a blue Rescue somewhere.

One member likened the Dragonfly to popcorn. :D You can’t stop at one. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q90/922/XwM3e3.jpg I don't see it, so please tell me you have the Nishijin one in there! I have a lot of them and I used to carry them a lot, but I don't carry them as much as I used to.

At that age, I was good at losing things. I hope he doesn't lose that knife. That would be a tough one to lose!

Re: What steel stays sharp longer?

What type of cutting do you do? I imagine you could get a lot more cutting out of the Para 3 if you also carried a small utility blade for the tougher cutting stuff. That would save your Para 3 edge. You might want to try CPM S110V. CPM S110V has higher wear resistance and is easily available if you...

Re: What Spyderco has surprised you the most?

I guess I also have to nominate the Military. Of all the locks there are, the liner lock is my least favourite. Putting my thumb into the way of the closing blade... there must be better ways, and I think there are. Plenty. Nevertheless, once I got my Rex45 Millie, I had to say that all the other a...

Re: Linerless Police 4

I really like the Pacific Salt 2 and the Para 3 lightweight and the Police 4 FRN. They added the hollowed out structural support and made them all feel strong and super light. I bought a cheapy Stainless handled frame lock from another company and they hollowed out the liner. It feels light enough ...

Re: Linerless Police 4

Unless it has a heavy enough backspacer, no thanks. If not, the balance would be worse than the Para 3 LW. My Para 3 Lightweight, the balance point is just on the handle side of the pivot. If you are hammer gripping it (not choked up) with the knife up and down, it would fall away from you. Where w...
