Re: About that big thing that happened...
On a personal level I've been feeling a little salty. I held out for years buying a BM, instead I've been buying tons of Spyderco's. I finally bought a BM only last week and this happens! Now I don't feel good about the purchase at all. I was actually going to buy a new 698 at the end of the month o...

Re: Byrd with Marlin Spike and Shackle Key?
I was also wondering would you actually need a super stainless steel like H1 for the Spike? The spike should be thick enough with regular steel not to ever completely rust out. And if you actually used it every day wouldn't the abrasion from the rope polish any corrosion off? I think Sal meant the ...

Re: About that big thing that happened...
The issue isn't for a lot of people BM cutting up some junk guns, but the fact they have been financially supporting some highly anti 2A politicians. People seem to have forgot how BM ripped off Spyderco, and just recently tried to screw Doug Ritter. Maybe all this is just karma. Firstly I thought ...

Re: Blood Groove: What is the truth behind it?
You can lighten the blade 25-35% without compromising strength. But I think the blood groove myth is because it's usually found on a weapon that's designed for stabbing and not cutting. You're not going to usually see one on a kitchen knife that's designed for slicing. A lot of people say the suctio...

Re: My take on the Spyderco Police...
https://i.imgur.com/BoNlog6.jpg I just recently got my P3 on the secondary market. I was planning on a P4 but the P3 was priced too well to pass up. I also have a blurple Military, and the Car/Ti S90V steel Military. This might sound a little weird but I've come to realize I prefer VG10 over steels...

Re: Byrd with Marlin Spike and Shackle Key?
I was wondering is there still a demand for marlin spike knives? When I was a kid in the 80's, people still had the old WW2 style army tents that used ropes. And I remember seeing people use those knives to set up and take down those tents. I also remember being in the Scouts and seeing our Leader us...

Re: Done with Zero Tolerance
I bought a used 0350 from a pawn shop and I love it! The lock up is solid like a safe. But it is a liner lock.
ZT's after sale service is amazing. I like how even though I bought it used they will switch the blade out for a differnt style for only $30.
I have no problem buying another ZT

https://axischemicals.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/nyc-history-the-007-knife/ Interesting read about the "007" flick knife that's probably responsible for NYC's BS knife laws. But one of the most important things Law Makers always miss is it has to be CHEAP. If you are desperate enough to use...

Re: Anyone else here still love the Starmate?
it's kinda weird how time changes perception. I've honestly never owned anything in 440V, so I did some researching 440V vs VG10. Most posts I found were around 2002. I'm not sure if maybe VG10 was the latest wonder steel at the time but most seemed to prefer it over 440V. Comments at the time talke...
