prying with a knife is a foreseeable mistake. It reminds me of when ever I see myself getting hurt prior to doing something. I don't do it. Most of the time. My foresight is about 100% accurate. My hindsight to my foresight reminds me I'm an idiot sometimes. They say insanity is doing the same thing...

I don't feel bad for the knives that don't get used. I feel bad for the knives that never find owners with a warm pocket, curio cabinet or safe. Poor little knives :(

Not sure but knives bought that aren't used may be a part of the hobby called knife collecting. I know its ridiculous people have money to spend on things that they don't need but what can you do?

+1 I think the price of 136.50 is a great deal and you wouldn't find another dealer offering an exclusive for 30% off.

So vassili judges steel by its ability to take a hair whitling edge. Under a micron microscope carving a hair into a totem pole. So maybe some steels that can't aren't worth the effort. I don't go deer hunting with a bb gun. If its your knife or you know the intened use then more power to you. I hav...

That is a great story and even a better Christmas. Getting what we want is always nice but the surprise makes it even better. Better yet is knowing someone cares for you enough to pay attention to what you might like. Maybe you can do something for new year's that will surprise her. Just a thought....

cough#PopHairInHalfInSomeCases#cough :p I also test by pushcutting TP and like the 3 finger test I think a refined edge has NO disadvantage to a semisharpened edge. I reckon its an excuse from people who cant get sharp enough :p (Im prepared to duck for that :D ) besides razors most of the working ...

I must of missed where someone ripped Mil Dot a new arse. Seems like he was looking for trouble and for the most part got the opinions he was expecting. Yea sorry you got what you asked for I guess. Calling people fanboys is a lame argument considering this thread wasn't about Spyderco but Ankerson&...

Actually, it was more like he was just supporting cts results. But at the same time he did say the mules performed well and he had yet to test the steel in anything other than the mule team. +1 . I believe you hit the nail on the head. I also think he found the hype a bit annoying to say the least.

Mil Dot. said . I don't mean to stir up trouble, but on the other hand, maybe that's exactly what I mean to do.
then Mil Dot said . I'm NOT intending to bash Spyderco or Ankerson

I think you need to put his comments in context. I never took it as he was saying s35v wasn't good. he was saying it wasn't a significant step up if at all. he also said he he liked s30v in the military he tested. So if s35v in his opinion wasn't a step up and worth the hype . It would still stand t...

Your last sentence is probably the reason why current hunting knives on the market are the way they are :) and really this I am by no means a hunter, but most modern hunting knives are what I would call general purpose outdoors knives. They are not designed for processing animals. They are designed...

Butchers and deer processors here use 6 inch boning knives and I have seen them sharpened down to a 2 inch tooth pick. They also don't look at there knives as anything but a tool that is a consumable and may last only a couple seasons that being said . I want something more interesting than a 6in bo...
