Spyder Pac

Any of you using a Spyder Pac to store your knife collection? I was thinking about ordering one. Seems easier than pulling each knife out of the box and plastic wrap to look at and/or use. I find I have a few dedicated users and many that I am storing. Storing knives isn't much fun and it would be n...

The Captain was one of my first Spyderco purchases. The blade shape intrigued me. I have not carried this blade with me but do enjoy handling it. The blade feels pretty substantial. I like the knife but don't think this is one I will use to often. Not because it is not a good user, I just don't want...

Help me pick out a knife....

I just returned a Black Blade Delica 4 CE knife I purchased online at Not Your Mama's Knife. I already have a few Delica 4's and decided to stick to plain edge blades when possible. I have a $65 credit and have about another $125 to contribute to this exchange to get free shipping for my new items. ...

Anyone using the H1 for SCUBA diving?

I am a SCUBA instructor and I do a lot of diving. I have owned several dive knifes over the years and have found the most practical cutting tools to be a small razor blade "Z knife" and a cheap fixed blade I keep in a sheath on my waist belt. If I can figure out how to attach a picture I w...

La Chouffe

Beer is proof that GOD loves us! I am fond of Belgium beers, mostly Tripel varieties. My favorite go-to beer is La Chouffe. Easy drinkin' and it packs a punch. "LA CHOUFFE is an unfiltered blonde beer, which is re-fermented in the bottle as well as in the keg. It is pleasantly fruity, spiced wi...

Thanks for all the info. I am confident that the "Spyderco Pro-Grip" is the knife I am looking for. I will start my search now that I know what I am looking for. Anyone on this forum have any leads for someone who might be sitting on some new old stock of this knife Aus 8 Combo Edge?

The second knife is an FRN Pro-Grip. The third is an all stainless Pro-Grip. The one below that is an earlier all stainless version, without the Kraton (rubber) inlay. As I mentioned in the post with the photo, the FRN version was also available in combo edge. Mine just happens to be plain. The ste...

Deacon - One thing I remember for sure is the grip did not have a logo on it like the current models do. The 2nd and 3rd knives in that picture are very similar to what I remember.

Description of lost knife from an early post

The following is my description of my lost knife from my welcome post in the off topic section.... I also have a favor to ask of the board. I am going to try and figure out the exact model knife I lost and I would like to try and replace it with the same model from the same year the knife was given ...

AFAIK, the Dragonfly was never made in combo edge, only in serrated and plain. Are you sure it was a Dragonfly? If you think it had rubber on it, it may have been a ProGrip. While the one in the photo below (second from top) is plain edged, the FRN version also came in combo edge, like the all stai...

Im wondering if you may have had a Delica 3 possibly in CE. The Delica 3 is slightly bigger than a Dragonfly, but slightly smaller than the current Delica 4. This could be it. The new Delica 4 I just received is a bit larger than I remember and the new Dragonfly I just received feels a bit smaller....

Dragonfly Question

I am trying to track down a replacement for a lost Spyderco knife my dad gave me 5-7 years ago. I believe it was a dragonfly with a combo edge. So far I have not been able to find any record of dragonfly's being produced with a combo edge. Has anyone ever seen a black FRN, Aus 8, Combo edge dragonfl...

Simple Man - Nice video....thanks for posting :p The picture line up is helpful...it has to be either the dragonfly or delica. The clip is spot on how I remember it. If the dragonfly was never produced with a combo edge...than delica has to be it. I just received a delica and ladybug in the mail thi...

The Dragonfly (with the exception of the new G-10 model), has a molded plastic clip. I am not enough of an authority to know whether there were any early versions of the Delica with a plastic clip, but someone far more knowledgeable than I will probably weigh in with more information. Dragonfly is ...

I probably shouldn't mention either SureFire brand/other high-performance flashlights or http://www.candlepowerforums.com/ . That can get to be a rather compelling and expensive hobby also. Been there, done that...with underwater dive lights that is. You would be amazed at the thousands spent on un...

Hello from a New Member....

I just signed up for this forum. I have spent the past couple days reading many of the older threads. Lots of good information on this site. I look forward to reading and contributing to the board. A bit about myself. I am a real estate appraiser and SCUBA instructor living in Charlottesville, VA. W...
