Re: Kinda disappointed my with my PM2
Thanks Ken, I am the type that likes to fiddle with things, learn how they work so i can expand my skill/knowledge base. That is just me. I know that comes with breaking a few things along the way. My first experience was taking apart my Persistence and losing the stop pin for a week in my garage. I...

Re: Kinda disappointed my with my PM2
Good info Ejames. I will try the hair dryer trick, and yes I believe the screw and backspacer are spinning together, so it is not going anywhere. I assumed the internal of the spacer and screw somehow got off track and locked up, but loctite is a good idea for the cause of the problem.

Re: Kinda disappointed my with my PM2
I bought at Knifeworks, which everyone says is very reputable. I will post some pics later today or tomorrow. At work now and I have a busy couple of days, but I will post pics! The knife seemed fine before I disassembled, nothing really wrong with. Just a lower grade of craftsmanship then I hoped f...

Kinda disappointed with my PM2
So I just my first PM2, my 4th spydie. Persistence, Matriarch, and Delica are my other ones. I love my Delica. This being my first knife from Golden and the legendary PM2, perhaps I had my expectations too high. Fit and finish is ok, but for a $122 knife I wanted more. G10 is super grippy, blade sha...

Any PM2 lock failures?
I am adding a 4th Spydie and want to get a PM2 or a Manix 2. I know both are amazing knives, but I think I will enjoy the PM2 a little more. It's slimmer carry seems like a big win to me. I have seen all the random video's whether its the cold steel comparison or people splitting wood and see the lo...

The type of pants is definitely key. Gym shorts are a no go. I only carry it when I am wearing the right type of jeans or pants. But, when it is done correctly it is a fast draw.

Re: Emerson Wave feature on Matriarch or Endura - how do you like it?
with practice I love the wave on my Matriarch 2. The speed of opening can not be matched by any other folder. I also feel that the grip you have while not 100% ideal, is more then strong enough to fight off an attacker with (and there is a high percentage that once an attacker sees you open that nic...

Re: New PM2! Can't wait to the Minuteman...
Every cool name is taken already. I see why it is so hard for these guys to come up with names for their knives. Taken - Patriot, Militia, minuteman, reservist. Tough stuff.

Re: BladeHQ All Spyderco Lock Test
I am in the minority it seems, but I enjoyed the test. Any time people put in $ and their efforts to test knives I like it. Not perfect, but some good comparison.
How about a bolt action Military 2 - that sounds nasty to me!

Re: Ed Reed sharpener a sharpmaker knock off?
I have tried to use Sal's recommended corner to flat side on medium stones, the same for the white stones. I have tried flats only, Corners only. Either I am terrible at sharpening or there is a problem with these white stones...

Re: Ed Reed sharpener a sharpmaker knock off?
Does anyone have issues using the cutco sharpener to sharpen straight edge knives? The gray stones work well for me as I can cut printer paper within 15-20 strokes per side, but when I move to the white stones it seriously dulls my knives until it no longer cuts printer paper! Recently, I have been ...

Re: Need help on a new slim EDC - no lockbacks
Thanks for the all the tips. I am leaning towards Sage 1/3, Mantra (although a little pricey), or if I can learn to like a lockback the Native 5 would be great. I am shop and review to death before I decide. I appreciate the help!

Re: Need help on a new slim EDC - no lockbacks
Mostly due to ease of closing the knife one handed. I know you can close a lockback one handed, but its nothing like liners, axis, etc. It is a pet peeve. Maybe I can get it over it because it does push a lot of great affordable knifes out of the mix.
