Re: Slab-sided Stainless Spydies
Thanks, you're the only one who replied! I thought I saw the Police w/o markings. Maybe Sal or the Deacon would know about the Harpy.

Slab-sided Stainless Spydies
Probably a past post, but did the Police (non-PIG) and the Harpy come with right-angle (slab-sided) scales, like the Worker, Mariner, Hunter, Executive, and Standard? (I have a version of all of them but the Executive.)

Re: NYC Pen Knife
Thanks for the reply, Sal. Much appreciated. To Sal, Doc Dan, and Mikeh99, great idea of a larger PITS knife. Only read the initial Bytes and considered it due to the stated non-lock strength, but I have three Pen Knives already and I don't collect Slip-Its, I use them. I collect ALOT of Clip-Its. W...

NYC Pen Knife
Although in NYC one can legally carry a manual or assisted locking folder up to but not including 4" (as long as it's not visible in public, including the clip since it is considered 'menacing'), the powers that be have deemed that ANY locking folder that can in any way be opened with one hand,...

I did and it is inconclusive in regard to my question. That is why I made the post.

Re: Economy Standard Picture show
Hi, I am wondering if this same standard (SE) with integral clip, slab handles, and four rivets in red box, but marked only Spyderco on the reverse side from Japan Seki City means it is also G-2 or does that mean it is Gin-1? I also want to know if that also means it is definitely not AUS-6. Some ha...

Re: PM 2 weights, clips, and fakes
I'm posting a reply to my own post since I don't know how to edit an existing post. Since the original post was long, I'll sum it up this way: The knife weighs the same as the real one. It has a chamfered G10 rear edge to the compression lock, and not a simple semi circle cutout. It has two cleanly ...

PM 2 weights, clips, and fakes
A few months ago, I purchased what I hope was my first and only counterfeit Spyderco on ebay. After I pointed out to the seller that there were very minor dimensional differences and that the weight felt too light in the hand, the poor lockup and slightly lighter colored red box and poor paperwork p...

Re: C46 Lum Tanto Black Almite
Thanks for the replies and complements. Also, MacLaren, I have the Valloton, but started it as an EDC because I don't collect Taiwanese Spydies. They are great quality, but I had to draw the line with the collecting somewhere. Yes, I can see the Lum as a trial around the same time as the almite Ayoo...

Re: C46 Lum Tanto Black Almite
Oh, and also it is definitely appears to be as advertised, black almite aluminum and not anodized aluminum. I have a black almite Copilot Sprint and I think it is a little darker black in color. It could be something other than almite, I suppose, but is definitely aluminum. Weighing and comparing to...

Re: C46 Lum Tanto Black Almite
I agree more with the prototype theory, but only because I want to. It may have been a late prototype or earl trial run (really semantics), before titanium was chosen for the material, and because it was likely cheaper and easier to work with. Thanks for firing the neurons for me guys!

C46 Lum Tanto Black Almite
A couple of months ago, I won a Lum Tanto folder on ebay that is not in Spydiewiki and cannot be found on the web using any search engine or search term, even looking at images or intense multi-page searches (believe me, I tried). Nor can I find it on Forum searches. The link to it is below, and unt...

Japanese Cricket
It's definitely not something that was ever offered by Spyderco. I'm still leaning toward it being an aftermarket modification. However, given the Japanese market box, it could be something G. Sakai, who made the Lum Tanto for Spyderco, did for their own custom shop in Japan. My guess is that only ...

Spin Blue Nishijin
Does anyone know the latest status of the release date for the Spin Blue Nishijin? I am seeing nothing online about it, since the prototype was unveiled in Amsterdam in 2013, I believe. It is behind schedule as I originally understood it, so I am thinking it's cancelled, or maybe because it's the fi...

Spyderco Pre Diver Variations
Although there are older threads regarding this model, none seem to address my specific question. I am trying to determine exactly all ways the Pre Diver was offered. Now I know the original model came with a metal shackle at the pivot end and maybe 20 or so were produced before it was discontinued ...

Scratch
Disclaimer: I've only read the first post My CF Para 2 has a nearly identical scratch and came that way from the factory. Mine is a user so no biggie for me, YMMV. Thanks for the reply. Did your scratch also extend under the scales at all points along the scratch? I can't tell from your post if you...
