Re: Any XHP Sprints or exclusives planned?
I think a Para 3 in XHP would be neat, maybe in gun metal grey or maroon scales.

I've never handled a Chaparral. How does it compare to a dragonfly or delica?Donut wrote:You can get a standard production XHP Chaparral for a reasonable price.

Re: Any XHP Sprints or exclusives planned?
I've thought about the orange one, but they want such a premium and I don't like the look of coated blades. It may end up being my only route though.Sharp Guy wrote:I don't know about future releases but I see the orange PM2 Cutlery Shoppe exclusives come up for sale every once in awhile on the BF Exchange.

Any XHP Sprints or exclusives planned?
I would really like to try this steel. I would also like to try it in a PM2 or Para 3. Are there any plans to release XHP in either of those models in the future?

I would love a ZDP PM2, but I know it'll never happen.

Re: Stainless steel that behaves like a carbon steel
What stainless steel( more than 13% Cr) would you say behaves, feels and sharpens like a carbon steel ? Marius H1. It has the toughness of a carbon steel. I haven't ever seen a regular stainless steel hold up as well to impact, prying, twisting loads on a thin edge etc. I never think twice about spl...

Re: Name your own Sprint Run!
I would like to see another XHP Paramilitary. I was not really into collecting spydercos when that came out. Maybe a more subte color than orange.
Seeing how XHP is lower carbide and a pretty high carbon stainless, like ZDP, maybe a British Racing Green G10 PM2.

Re: Do I really need anyything more than VG10, S30V, or H1?
If you haven't tried ZDP189, you probably should. It holds a thin, razor edge for a really long time. Perhaps, but my experience with ZDP-189 has been that rusts considerably more easily than VG-10 and that any advantage it has over VG-10 in terms of edge holding is negated by the increased amount ...

Re: Do I really need anyything more than VG10, S30V, or H1?
I love all of the awesome steels out there - but do I really need anything more than what VG10, S30V, or H1 provides? Seems these three cover all bases for a folding knife. Does it matter? I'm going to continue to get other steels anyways, knowing full and well they are overkill for my needs! :D If...

Like most high-carbide steels, S110V will lose that razor sharpness sooner than you'd expect, but keeps a working edge forever.

My M4 PM2 was a razor out of the box. It would shave without catching or making any sound as it did.

Re: H1 Spyderhawks
I've decided that if I buy any more H1 blades or gardening blades, I'm shoving them in the dirt as soon as it comes out of the package.
I'm the type that once something new gets scratched the first time, it's old to me and I can abuse it at will.

Re: Considering zdp 189
I love ZDP. When it comes to really hard, wear resistant steels, it's not as tough as M4, but it gets sharper and stays like a razor longer.
