Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season

Now the Giants will go sign Zeke! :grin-squint

(I actually wouldn’t mind Zeke back on the Pats. At least he had the integrity to put in effort when he was on the field last year. Something that can’t be said for most of last years Pats players.)

I forget the name of the knife I'm carrying today, but here's a photo of it anyway...
Pretty sure that’s a Paramilitary 2. Great choice!

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

Why does it have to be made for “everyone?” They’re just pocket knives; they’re not participation trophies. In my opinion, nothing more than a simple laser engraving would probably be as underwhelming as it could get. Even if it were put on every knife made that year, it would require such minimal ...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

What we see is what we’ll get. It’s a production sample; made in China with 8Cr13MoV. Really? That’s… that’s just mind boggling. Who is buying a titanium handled knife with 8Cr? The Ti certainly is pretty though. I found it surprising too. I agree that they do look really nice. I also noticed that ...

Re: Knife sharpening/Knife steel separate board?

It would be a lot of work for Spyderco (Kristi) to find, evaluate, and move every thread pertaining to sharpening and steel to its own sub-forum.

For now though the “Community Sharpening Journal” is quite active and often towards the top of page 1.

Re: Anyone else hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native?

I find the relative lack of interest in the Lil Native Wharnie remarkable. I like mine a lot but do not feel the need for upgraded steel personally. I wouldn't say no though!! You’ve pretty much caught my thoughts, but while I wouldn’t say no, I do begrudge any ask that I think unnecessary. I’m jea...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

While it looks cool, the RIL Tenacious seems like a knife that will miss some marks, based on 8Cr13 or D2 steel, non-deep carry clip and what I'd guess will be a over $100 price point. I don’t think the frame lock Tenacious is going to have a low end steel, there’s a whole thread about it where Sal...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

I don´t know, folks. To me making an anniversary knife out of rather "fancy", expensive materials and "superclassy" "collectible"... , is just ONE approach to this. A good and understandable one of course (it is not that I would not like that idea too), but perhaps not...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

The "Charisma" is made in Golden. Eric has been working on refining the design for 3 years anyway. sal It's like a Jess Horn lightweight that's running illegal jet fuel. What about teeth? This model with fangs would be out of the ballbark. The public patents for this knife were shared on ...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

i'm confused why people are worried about this knife breaking. it's a small blade and it's only 1mm thick. this knife clearly isn't made for applying any kind of lateral force. it's made for slicing and opening your mail, not for building a cabin in the woods. I can certainly understand where the c...

The photo in the product guide is not accurate. Refer to this video, posted here by Sovereign.

These are production pieces. This is how they will all look.

Re: The Magnacut Paramilitary 2

That photo in the catalog is a prototype. It genuinely looks like they took one of the black scales and painted the grooves yellow to show off the concept. Notice how the edges are still black, not layered. As a result of manufacturing, the black and yellow scales will be smooth. Only the all black ...

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

This isn’t in response to anyone in particular just in general but I think some people are missing the point of a commemorative anniversary knife like this. It’s not meant to be a heavy user - they make thousands of those knives every year. It’s not supposed to be more of the same with a tiny littl...
