Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

When the Manix 2 LW 15V was first announced, I KNEW I would have one. I've been discouraged that the Reveal hasn't been revealed yet, but these pictures have reinvigorated me. I'm so excited that maybe I'll even get a Military 2.

Re: Got this email about the Emerson CQC - &, Ernie smiled his guts.

The CQC-7 was a good knife for the time. I still have a Benchmade version that predates the obsession with the flippy-wavy appendage. It's nice. I would carry it today if Spyderco didn't offer designs that were far more ergonomic and useful. The whole problem with the original CQC-7 is that it's ma...

Re: What are you listening to?

I saw him once for half a set before he got boo'ed off stage. The rock 'n roll world just wasn't ready for an androgynous little guy dressed up in purple and singing in falsetto while skipping around. Those were different times.

Re: Jende Spyderco stones for guided sharpeners.

I'm glad Sal said it and not me. When using language so crude on the forum, one should expect to get his knuckles rapped by the ever-vigilant Kristi. 🚽 🫢 I hope she doesn't come down too hard on him. 😆 At least now we know the story about the counterfeit stones and the crooked business practices of...

Re: K390 vs S110V - Some Observations

Those are my very unscientific observations on these two steels. What's your experience been with them? Which do you prefer and why? My experience with S110V is limited, so I can't give a fair evaluation. But I probably have more knives with K390 than any other steel. I find the material isn't part...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

Such a strange turn this thread took. Is everyone in some kind of mad panic because of some software hat tricks all of a sudden? I'm afraid you're just a lone man yelling into a hurricane. Good luck. I hope you succeed. People need something to panic about nowadays. Has it always been like this? I ...

Re: Weird streaks/scratch in DLC?

Sent off my Shaman to get sharpened and it came back with this weird scuff on it. I've tried a few remedies such as magic eraser, rust eraser( feel like it made it worse) buffing with ballistol with no avail. Only thing I haven't tried is fritz but at this point I'm wondering is this even fixable o...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

I think you have me in the wrong box. Sorry if I put you in a box, Sal. That wasn't my intention. On virtually any issue, I like to examine it from all sides, like a new Delica owner examines his knife the first time he takes it out of the box. Only through close scrutiny can we arrive at the truth...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

I'm not bullish on AI putting creators out of business. But I do think a lot of graphic artists will find demand for them reduces, but is replaced by demand for people skilled in using AI-assisted art programs. It's funny that you mentioned graphic artists. I was in the printing business in my late...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

As one who has always been a creator/inventor/designer, It is a major issue for me. It seems that AI has no problem "creating" my round hole, my ball lock, etc. If a computer running an AI program generates a knife using a round hole and a ball lock, how is that different than a guy in Pa...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

It sure does seem like there is a lot of fear and hatred of new technology among Spyderco enthusiasts. Automobiles, Aircraft, Computers, Printing presses, rifled barrels, mirrors, forks, flushing toilets, sewing machines, the wheel, aqueducts, surgery. Upon their introductions, the common folk were...

I recently got this little pocket slip for carrying the smallest Knipex pliers and a Ladybug in my front pocket. It's the perfect solution. The other pic is all my other Knipex pliers. The flat-jaw ones are brilliant.

Re: Sharpening my Spydercos. A simple question...

I have not liked what serrated knives tend to do to my cutting boards. Not sure if this knife would be any different, but I can't easily sand out the gouges serrations usually put in my boards. Our primary cutting board is old... perhaps 30 years or more. It was nothing special when we got it, but ...

Down for one to two days? I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms

I expect that it will be a difficult few days, but plan on soothing my tortured mind by browsing all the knife stores and buying some new knives. It would be easier of some of those new 15V models dropped before the shut down.

If you don't find it to be the most used knife in your kitchen, I'll buy it back from you.

Those sound like the words of a man who has full confidence in his product.

I couple years ago I bagged a Police 4 K390 SE and it's been great. When they got discontinued and discounted, I picked up an Endura and a Delica. Buy it now, or forever regret it.

Does anyone know of a good stockist that will post internationally? They don’t really have a presence here in Singapore that I can find.
Does Amazon deliver in Singapore? Many of my Knipex trinkets were purchased there.

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

So if I’m reading this right lc200n or vg10 are recommended for those getting into SE blades? I don't know if LC200N or VG10 are the best materials for serrated knives. My only experience with Spyderco serrations is K390, but it hasn't disappointed. I started off with the Police 4. It's great for y...
