Re: Good Knife for Lawn Care?

I'm no knife snob and have nothing against using cheaper brands. I find, however, that the salt line hits the sweet spot for me between affordability and performance. Man, I can get a tasman or a salt 1 for just over $50. When I factor in performance and longevity due to higher quality and complete...

Re: Good Knife for Lawn Care?

I never even noticed it was 13 years old! :p And yes, for hard use a generic folder is the easiest solution. Always carry a spydie but I tend to carry a cheaper blade as hard-user at work. Alohallo DutchBlades, Well sir, then that makes both of us! :o As for "generic folder"...ya know...s...

Re: Spyderco's Hidden & Forgotten models

Aloha ALL, JDSpydo...glad to see you're still, "at it"!!! I agree on the Adventura...speaking of which, does DiAlex still come here or is he too famous now? ;) I think the :spyder: C50 IIRC design by Frank Centofante IMHO was one the best from back in the day. Then when he did the Vesuvius...

Not right now, but at times a Cara Cara 2 or a Meadowlark Hawkbill. My daughter sometimes carries her Robin. Thank God...er, sal for throwing FRN into this totally under rated line of knives. Back when they first came out, it was all SS or Aluminum handles IIRC. ;)

Re: DOGTAG FOLDER. How much use does it get??

Don't have a Dogtag and won't have in the future unfortunately, but the things said on small knives is true . Have been carrying my FG Ladybug/SE constant for the past weeks and use it all the time. It's small enough not to notice it when carrying, won't raise eye brows in public and is more than c...

aloha elena86, Agree with you on the Salt :spyder: ... Re: Good Knife for Lawn Care?

Dyad would seem like a good option, but it would be a waste of a hard to get knife... If the Endura is a PE, I'd go with the hawk or the Harpy. Huge fan of the Harpy myself :) Aloha DutchBlades, This thread threw me off initially due to when it was posted! Agree on the hawkbill use in the yar...

Re: Anyone else super excited for the Szabo Hawk?

Thanks for the great discussion and your enthusiasm for the SzaboHawk. We're currently gearing up for the SOFIC Special Operations trade show and Kristi and I were discussing models that we wanted to feature in the full-page ad in the show guide. After taking a hard look at all the new and soon-to-...

Re: LONG overdue...

Good to see your name pop up again Chad. The Lava has a special place in my pocket, because it's the first knife my soon to be wife bought me. I'm kinda sad I missed out on that sprint model, because it combines one of my favorite designs, with my favorite color. Count me in as one that would buy a...

Hi 'Chaddakin', good to see you posting again here! I loved the smurf G-10 Lava, it's a great little EDC folder. It small size and smurf blue color also makes it a crowd-pleaser to non-knife people. Congrats on the sprint, the Lava is an awesome design. Sup Chad?! Hope you're doing well my friend. Good to "see" you. :) I still have the AUS-8 Dfly I traded you a long long time ago. Any chance you still have the Scorpius? Hey David, Thanks bro, good to see you too. I may have the Scorpius still...stashed away if anything I hope. ;) Be safe!
