I must say that I like both tip up and tip down. I have no problem with either. Both clip positions are safe because the blade is against your pocket and knife handle, if that is how you carry it. There is a learning curve with both opening methods, but after you get past that it really isn’t a prob...

Since both the Civilian and Matriarch have a serrated edge I would choose serrated. I have also cut my finger on serration just from brushing the edge. Think of the differance when cutting bread or meat with a plain blade verses a serrated blade. The serrated make quicker work of the bread and meat....

I would go for a Ti handle Spydercard. I carry a Spydercard now and didn't notice the weight after carring it for a couple of days. I don't think cutouts would be a good idea though, I have enought trouble getting it in and out with it getting caught on my wallet. I think it needs to be as smooth as...

Well, about nine years back I was at the Kansas State Fair, I was 11. There just so happened to be a Spyderco display booth with someone sharpening knives, for free of course, with the Spyderco sharpener. I had no knowledge of knives back then, nor did I know anything about Spyderco. It was amazing ...

I doubt they are illegally selling Spydercos. The outdoor sport shop that is in my town sells Spydercos and they aren't listed. But the sport shop of the same chain is listed in a different city. This may be the case. And from what I am told, you have to register with Spyderco to be a dealer. Ehh, s...

It is a little strange but I get more people asking about my mutitool, I carry it in a pouch on my belt. Than I do about my SS Native with its shinny clip that I carry in my front right pocket. In fact no one has ever asked about my Native II and I don't cover it up! Ehh, supposed to be Thorin... : )

Spyderco Cricket lock
I was recently at a outdoor sport shop looking at the Cricket model. I would have bought one but I found it had a problem. When I open it, the linerlock didn’t engage all the way and I had to pull back on the blade to completely engage the lock, it was a fair amount of pressure. In fact the blade wo...

I miss spelled my username!!!
Can any one help me change my username? I miss spelled it. It should be Thorin Hammer.
I have tried changing it in the user profile and it doesn't work.
