Re: 52100 Military, what are your plans?
I am on the fence about this one as I already have a couple of millies that don't get much use. That being said I like peel ply CF and have begun appreciating non-stainless steels more (thank you Hap40). I have carried an used (some less than others) everyone of my spydies so this one wouldn't be an...

Re: A Little Disappointed in HAP40
I am a little surprised. Have been using my HAP40 Delica and haven't seen this. It is the thinest bladed Delica that I own and have only cut some lightweight plastic strapping, clamshell packaging and cardboard with no issues. It came sharp and all I did was put a 30 degree inclusive microbevel on i...

Re: Spyderco cat / questions about whether previous quality issues have been dealt with
I recently got a Cat and the F&F is good, no issues that I a can find with it. Mine is 440C so can't comment on the newer ones. I was lucky that my CF Chicago was very good except for a terrible grind which needed to be fixed.

Re: Sig Sauer P238 Blackwood: Mini Review (Pic Heavy)
It is crazy but its based on the needs of politicians not on the needs of the people they govern. It is a knee jerk reaction to the criminal use of firearms. It is a lot easier to make legal gun ownership difficult and onerous than it is to deal with illegal firearms and crime. Politicians push for ...

Re: Mule Team 22 RWL-34 Testing/Review
Appreciated the time and effort. I respect the attempts at consistent testing but I am the first to admit that my cutting technique can vary wildly. As I get tired, as the knife dulls, how much time I have to complete a task. The human variable is very hard to remove. A test set-up like yours tries ...

@MacLaren: Thanks man. :) I recall seeing some pics of your Sig Sauer "toys" not too long ago. ;) I figured I'd might as well get on the bandwagon before I was tempted to spend the money on something silly... Like a new Nirvana, or something. @Darby: Appreciate that, Darby. :) ...

Re: ROCK SALT SPRINT
I can't decide between the H1 sprint and the VG-10. I think I am leaning to the VG-10. Never had corrosion issues with VG-10 and the edge retention is better.

Thanks for the review as always. Yours are my favourite as they seem to match up with what my expectations of a knifes actual uses are.
Not to derail but I have a couple of the Halpern Micarta scales and they are very good.

Re: Got a small gift
As mentioned the Spyderco Factory Outlet.
Usually a pretty good place to find those hard to get items. I had been looking for awhile for the GITD Manix XL and the SFO is the most reliable.
Nice puppies. They quickly become part of the family don't they.

Re: Got a small gift
Thanks for all the kind words all. Appreciated. I have always been content with the fact that my pets have good lives while they are alive. All four of my cats (over the years) have been rescue cats who were at risk of being put down. They got a lot of extra years. The cat has been a fantastic addit...

Re: Who is planning to get the RWL 34 Mule?
I have two on the way. Happy to hear little bits about their performance from Ankerson. I like this category of blade steel seems like a good all rounder for actual use. By the way I have just started to use my PSF27 in the kitchen and have been impressed so far. Still very early so nothing conclusi...

Re: How important is disassembly?
I don't consider it when buying spyderco's but I don't take things apart unless I need too. I have only needed to take apart 2 spyderco's (MiniManix to figure out why the lock bar wasn't seating correctly and my Stretch CF which was extremely gritty). Aside from that it is asthetic things only. Pinn...

Got a small gift
Just wanted to get on here to say a big thanks to the SFO for including a small gift with my most recent purchase. I picked up an EDC Forum GITD Manix XL, a Swick 4 and another B70 Mule (since I have been buying mules I have bought two of each except for this one for some reason, my OCD would not al...

Re: Your "most worn out" Spyderco?
I am a fan of spyderco precisely because I haven't been able to wear any out. I rotate through a lot of knives so they all share the load. my most used would be: CE Military SE Tasman Salt CE Delica 4 PE Native (just because it has been around so long) None of them are even close to being retireable.

Re: Advantages of VG10 over other premium steels
No issues with VG-10 here. sharpens easily, has acceptable edge retention, good corrosion resistance, takes a fine edge, relatively inexpensive, works well with serrations. I probably have more VG-10 than any other steel due to the models its offered in. It also out shines every steel I used for the...
