Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2023 Report

Regards the LW Native Chief: Blade: 4.08 inch / 104 mm Weight: 1.9 oz / 54 g Outstanding! My next backpacking knife! Light enough to carry, big enough to make a difference! Wow! Along with whatever they did to the lock to ensure it's strong enough, I can't be more interested in this knife right now...

Re: feathersticking

Only hollow ground I have is my ticn salt. Gonna give that a try. And I guess my manbug too?? Give it a try if you like. Life is about learning, and experiencing right? There are certainly some variables for consideration. It may come down to what, or how, you call/define a "feather stick"...

Re: feathersticking

I have many, many times over the years (decades). One thing I wasn't expecting (but perhaps should have known better), now many many years ago, was/is just how good the hollow ground H1s (Gen 1 & 2 P/E Pac Salts in my usage) feathered. I surmised it was/is due to the hollow grind. If you are goo...

Re: DLT Cruwear Endela

Mine was waiting for me when I got home from work late last night. Definitely like the color combo on this knife. Mine did have very, very similar looking edge grinds to what you show in your photos. I've already put my own "laid back" & coarse edge on it. Also, my pivot & lock ba...

Re: DLT Cruwear Endela

Mine showed up with some jacked up bevels! I don’t expect perfect bevels (CRK don’t even do that), but at least try! this is probably the worst I’ve received on any Spyderco in the last 10 years. Check out the show side bevel compared to the other: Edit* just got pics from 2 of my friends with the ...

Re: DLT Cruwear Endela

Just got mine in. It's my first Endela and I like it. I can carry it without any problems and it's close enough to Endura size where it doesn't cause the problems I have with Delicas. It's good fit & finish and I for sure don't see any lesser quality issues like I have read about for Seki knive...

Re: Aluminum or Magnesium Backspacers, Liners?

Magnesium is VERY prone to corrosion, so there's that...

Aluminum though, some 7075 T6 (very hard stuff, relatively speaking) might work well.

Nice! How is it on the pockets? Meaning does it tear them up, or not, using the wave feature.

Re: Let’s face it Liner Locks and Back Locks suck!

I've been playing (using) backlocks and liner locks (Spydercos mostly) for thirty years or more now, and have yet to cut myself closing one (knocks on wood). And I am a fan of them too. I only have three liner lock Spydies: GB1, Pattada, and Military. I have well over twenty backlock Spydies, and ca...

Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?

The original Stretch would have performed well in this regard, I believe. Some of the Spyderco fixed blades would also work well in this application. The original Stretch absolutely does perform exceptionally well in this regard. I have used mine for dressing various game many, many times. To this ...

https://i.imgur.com/dTV8EgC.jpg Hey Shannon, great photo, you have some really nice knives but sometimes you still carry this one which is so basic in comparison. I'm the same with plenty of nice knives but I still often carry a Pacific Salt and am well satisfied. They actually make me feel a bit g...

Re: micro-beveling - when to reprofile?

3rd Over the years, the only time I have found I use anything resembling a strop is to help push a burr over more - so I can "cut" it off with the stone. I always finish on the stone for the reasons stated above. And like a few others here, I finish at lower grits, like 325 (or lower). u.w.

Re: Debating Seki or Golden

Didn't start calling it "sexy city" years ago for no reason... :-) How a knife feels "in-hand, in-use" is SO subjective... Then there's the how do you carry it, where do you carry it, how/where do you use it... even the steels. How do you sharpen it? what grit? what edge angle? e...
