Re: Sharpening to the Edge/Apex
I found an old 30/60x loupe like the one above that I still have and compared it to both a 10x and 15x Belomo loupe and there's no way the magnification claims are accurate on the 30/60x loupe. The 10x Belomo appears to have about the same magnification as the 30x lens and the 15x, which I don't rec...

I caught a SS Police in the Beastie Boys Sabotage video. I see that its already been mentioned but didn't see any pics or video (clip is cued to the scene with the knife) so here's a little eye candy. https://youtu.be/z5rRZdiu1UE?t=105 https://i.imgur.com/zRSXGGm.png https://i.imgur.com/gAhoZwz.png

Re: 15V Mule Team scale bolt holes
A few of the holes on mine were tight too, but it just took a couple of light taps with the handle of the driver I was using to install the scales to get them in.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Haven't seen you around much, as you said...but I almost forgot how nice of edges you put on your knives!! I remember when you first molded this one, glad you're still loving it! Thanks man! I still lurk almost daily but hanging out too long gets expensive. I've bought about 100 Spydies since findi...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Even though I'm a steel junkie at heart (still waiting on my 15v Mule to arrive) this good old VG-10 Delica finds itself in my pocket more than any other of my knives as you can probably see the rust peeking through the scales. Anyhow I haven't posted in a while and just touched up the tip of the bl...

Re: Whats the next hot piece?
Now that the 15v train has come and gone, what will be the next hyped model coming down the pike? Im really hoping the lightweight manix 2 salt in magnacut is out for this summer.....not holding my breath though. I think the 15v train is still rolling. We're still waiting for the mother of all 15v ...

I played with the big brother yesterday and wanted to show the result ! Did not feel the need for a new thread for it though :winking-tongue . I used some carbon fiber and I have to say that I'm really pleased with the result for my first attempt at folder scale(s) ! Well done...They look great!

Re: What Spyderco knives do you want to see in ceramic
I thought it was un undesirable, chipping and extremely difficult to sharpen. If you have a very fine diamond stone it's not hard to sharpen. It's different than steel because it doesn't form a burr so I find using alternating edge trailing passes works best. On a 3/2 micron Venev stone I can take ...

Re: "sharpener's steels"
I think the heat treat plays a big role in what makes a "sharpener's steel".
I have 2 knives in Nitrobe77 which is considered by many to be a "sharpener's steel" but the one from Roman Kase aka KKnives Switzerland is on another level compared to the one I have from Dulo.

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?
I don't have one in LC200N but here are my measurements, measures at the top of each of the serrations at the arrows. This is the factory thickness for this knife, I haven't done any reprofiling or sharpening that effected the bevel at the very top. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52650832481_8...

Re: sal can we get some new Lil Matriarchs?
i don't think i'd want a hawkbill any bigger than my lbhb salt. that little knife handles the few moments i might feel a need for a hawkbill just fine because they're generally not big tasks. the front half of a lil matriarch would effectively take the place of that knife and i'd have the benefit o...

Re: SE MagnaCut Testing Thread
Definitely looks like a taller grind, look at the difference where the first serration starts. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52644313194_d1b25cf50e_3k.jpg I don't think mine is ground the same as yours either. I checked it today on my SM and @ 15 dps I only hit the shoulder unlike yours where...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?
Is it just my eye, or would the comparison between LC200N and Magnacut imply, that the Magnacut version has the serrations ground under a more acute angle? BTW, I really like the tone of the yellow FRN I think the primary grind on the MagnaCut Native is more acute than the LC200N. Since the earlier...

Re: Notched blade
I put a small serration on this Manix a few years ago because I didn't like the way things were catching in it when I had it as a sharpening notch. Reading your description of using it to cut cardboard I think I'm going to try making it bigger and see if I like it better. https://i.imgur.com/xjTQNXm...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?
Ok I'm definitely not seeing things, this is at least a different shade of yellow. Whether it was intentional or not will be for This photo doesn't show the colors the way I see them in person but you can see a clear difference between the LC200N and the MagnaCut. Sure one is fresh out of the box a...

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?
Maybe a Seki vs Golden thing? Or maybe FRP vs FRCP? I have a Magnacut Native en route and I have an LC2000 here so I can post a comparison soon if no one beats me to it. I thought these were FRN? I haven't really kept up with all the lightweight variations but I thought the Manix 2 LW was the only ...
