Re: My SpydieChef review went live on ITS Tactical (yeah, after months of use)
I have never understood the appeal of “it’s a chef knife but in your pocket” Clearly I’m the odd one out here- however when chefing I tend to be in a kitchen with my actual kitchen knives. I suppose if I did more camping and stuff? I agree that it’s a misleading name. I have had one for quite a whi...

Re: I Like Me Some XHP
to say it is "stainless" is perhaps an overstatement. After less than an hour in a freshwater swimming pool Despite what might be the obvious meaning of “stainless”, that’s not what stainless steel means. Most steels will eventually rust in water. It’s stupid terminology but it goes back ...

Re: I Like Me Some XHP
I bought the FRN Chap after really enjoying my CF Chap for some time. I wanted a lightweight knife, I could wear clipped IWB in board shorts while swimming and fishing. Don't get me wrong, this is one of my favorite steels, but to say it is "stainless" is perhaps an overstatement. After le...

Wow, I used the promo code on a salt 2 SE this morning and I am glad I did.. If I would have known about the Para 3 dropping today I would have spent $160 instead of $60. My buying urge has been satiated so I am happy to say I can pass this one up.

dang, this is really pushing me towards a Caribbean... You wont be sorry if you take the plunge. I wasn't initially going to buy one. I am very glad I did.. Just got to decide between sheepsfoot PE or leaf PE.... I kinda dig the sheepsfoot because tip strength in aquatic activities can be extremely...

what other sites?
So I am having a relatively slow day in the shop and was wondering what "other sites and forums" do you ladies and gentlemen waste your time on? I need to waste some time and find myself staring at a blank screen..

Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
What compound do you guys use to polish the G10 scales? Also, is a cotton buffing wheel the right tool for the job? Thanks!! I used a blue buffing compound made by Dico. Product id on the label is PBC 7100952. I ordered it from Mcmaster Carr I believe. Its around $10 for a big brick of it. I think ...

Re: LC200N Caribbean
Looking at this knife, how do you feel it compares to the spydie chef? For me personally, nothing will outclass my spydie chef. It rides so comfortably in the pocket. its a breeze to clean, and to sharpen. The blade geometry is amazing (not just for food prep). And the F&F is absolutely outstan...

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team
Sounds like you are asking Spyderco to producer a $30-50$ folder, made from high end exotic steels.. That's a sprint run, not a mule. The price point you are throwing out makes no sense. You Are basically asking for a white frn back lock, made out of vanax, or rex.. and for $30??? That's just crazy...

Re: LC200N Caribbean
any follow-up impressions on the Caribbean after getting some use time? Received mine on Monday. So far I am loving it. The detent strength is fine, but during opening there was some grittiness. I took it apart, cleaned it up, and still a tiny bit of grittiness during deployment. Not enough for mos...

I polished mine as well. I really like it this way. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1821/41277474560_d94272d6ca_k.jpg Untitled by Todd Crawford , on Flickr I had some old beat up OEM scales on my SE PM2 and decided to polish those as well. I think they came out really nice. https://farm1.staticflickr...
