I got the itch for one several months ago and could not find it for sale from any dealer. Found one on another forum eventually.

BF, KnifeBST and the Bay are your best bets.

I really like mine - the Kiwi and the Cricket are my favorite small Spydercos. I have large hands, but the Kiwi is still quite comfortable.

Have a look at Deacon's Kiwi page...it will convince you of the Kiwi's innate goodness ;)

Well, to put things in perspective, with the possible exception of the C15 Terzuola the only models Spyderco has ever produced left hand versions were all front/mid locks, which require minimal modification. "Handed" locks, on the other hand, require almost totally new tooling. Deacon, Do...

Since the Jumpmaster scales are secured by screws, not pins, replacement would be relatively easy if Spyderco made yellow scales available at some point. Since that is highly improbable, it would probably be a do-it-yourself project, or commission someone to make suitably-colored scales. With that s...

We may be in the minority, but I share your opinion - I liked the Cobra Hood, too. It rocks on the ATR and Salsa.

Isn't that actually an Economy model, as opposed to the "standard" Standard, since the clip is integral to the scale?

Deacon,

I'm like you in that I normally read Dilbert, have a chuckle, and move on. Saw the one you linked to in print recently and that section of the paper got a reprieve from the recycle bin.

The knife was a gift from Sal. Sal's philosophy is to use knives, and creates very usable ones. Therefore, it follows that the intent of the gift was something to be used, not admired as a safe queen. Any admiration should come from an appreciation of what you know it does, not what you think it mig...

I'm glad this model is all titanium. I prefer uniformity.

Personally, I don't get the appeal of "half-and-half" handles - of course, I don't care much for CE blades, either. ;)

I'd be up for another run of Ronins. I missed out on them the first time - actually, I was uninterested in them at that time - but have since come to appreciate them. I've been on a bit of a fixed-blade kick lately, so a new Ronin would fit that nicely.

Congrats on the new Spydie. Does this model go full tang or if not, where does the steel end??
Not full tang - more like 1/2 tang, if memory serves.

As much as I am a full-tang fan, I have had zero problems with Spyderco's non-full-tang fixed blades.

David, I agree 100%. I do not care for the new site. The old one felt much "homier," if you will; the new one does not seem as inviting. In other words, I felt the old site was as friendly as the NGK people themselves, and was a pleasure just to browse around on, but the new one...not so m...
