The "byrd" trademark is with a lower case "b". This avoids confusion with a person's name, which will always begin with an upper case "B".

For chuck's sake, how about the "s" in "sal?" Is there a story behind that as well? :)

The worst sound I heard yesterday was listening to a freshly sharpened edge of a paring knife hitting the ceramic plate as my beloved wife was slicing some fruit for our kid.

Since we're just talking, I'd like to see deep carry wire pocket clip, thinner blade, thicker G-10, and lighter liners.

But really, I just want the wire pocket clip.

The nice thing about the Techno is the finish. It hides any additional scratches very well due to the stonewashed finish. I carry a small Sebenza and it scratches much easier than other materials.

Thanks Dan, I didn't think it would be an issue but I would rather not have it confiscated. I probably should have mentioned that we are going down to Mexico, any experience with that countries customs? I would assume they would be similar in this regard? During my last trip, the Mexican customs pe...

I'm not a fan of frame locks in general. I think the "weakness" of linerlocks is over-hyped and undeserved, especially when they come from quality manufacturers. Titanium scratches too easily and I don't like how I need to keep my fingers away from the lock bar when opening the knife. Also...

I wonder how you'll feel if you have play that can't be tweaked away or if it can, I don't have the skills to do it. :D I just try to ignore the play because of the awesome steels and luckily, I've been able to tweak out the play on my regular P2. So it's all good but it would nicer to have no play...

I do appreciate the engineering behind the stepped pivots but in using various Spydies, I don't miss it. It's a testament to how good the standard pivots become when broken in. I prefer a bit of tightness on all my folders so I crank down on the stepped pivots to add just enough friction to not allo...

Hmm, it's not doing anything for me. The blade steel is very interesting but the overall knife isn't appealing. The 0777 really was a must have for me and I'm happy to be on the list for one. And I own and occasionally carry a Tilt, but this year I'll pass on the KAI offerings.

Super Blue is supposed to handle low angles nicely and some people have posted about running their M390 Paras at low angles with good success. Mine's close to 20 degrees inclusive and I've had no problems. I've been using it with no extra care and there are no chips or signs of rolling. It's simply...

My better kitchen knives have a 10 degree per side VG-10 edges. But I find that to be too thin for a non-super steel folder. It was too delicate for general use.

It's one of the best ever to come out of Golden. S30V's been tested and proven to be a great steel, it's a good compromise between edge holding, durability, and sharpening ease. Considering every ~$50 dollar knives I own, including other Spydies, the Para 2 is worth the jump in price range. The only...

If and when I do strop, I use a plain leather belt. But I don't use the SM to sharpen much these days. I found that when I strop and hone to an extremely thin and sharp edge (0.5 micron), it has 2 negative effects. The edge looses bite and the edge is weak relative to a coarser finish. The finest I ...

No noise from my Preon. I used to have a Preon Revo and gave it to my father in law seeing how impressed he was with it. Now I can't find a replacement and ended up with a regular one.

My SS Fenix LD01 does make a noise on low and mid but it's only audible when I put it next to my ear.

Perhaps an FRN Native? A backlock is a classic and doesn't require a lot of practice. Of course D4 or a Dfly would be great too but I figured I'd throw in a US made choice too. Maybe the "Golden CO, U.S.A. Earth" would be appreciated.

I got it yesterday but issues with Battlenet is really annoying. I couldn't start playing at all yesterday and finally got about 15 mins of play this morning. Just long enough to know I'm going to lose many hours of sleep.
