DLC with an earth tone Peel Ply G10 would be sweet. Or even Satin with an earth tone Peel Ply G10. Anything really. I'd love to see it in Delta 3V actually, but that's just me! :D
Not just you for the D3V :)
But 4V DLC earth tone Peel Ply G10 sounds perfect! Or CF.

Re: Evil's question

Thank you Sal for explaining your philosophy or concept of design. I think that is a really important insight into where creativity comes from. One thing I have experienced over the years (and I think I purchased my first spyderco in the late 1980s and have not stopped since), I only really understa...

Re: More 4V anyone?

Uncoated in a Native Chief would suit me just fine. Native Chief would be an excellent choice for 4V. Definitely would be a must have for me. I'd prefer DLC for anything 4V, but I'd buy one either way. As far as St. Nick's - I am glad they are doing the exclusives, but I have missed all of them :( ...

Re: Your Idea of a DREAM HAWKBILL folder?

SE Karahawk I wish you were close by because I would give a brisk "high five" on that one. I've just been baffled to no end as to why they never offered the Karahawk in SE>> or any other Hawkbill that they've only made available in PE> >> the Superhawk is another one that should have had ...

Interesting that it took this many posts (referring to JD's post on the previous page) to bring up the Tuff :)

More 4V anyone?

Lots of discussion of one of my favorite steels - Cruwear, but I also really like 4V and those are much harder to come by :( Are you interested in 4V and if so, in what models? I would really like a Military in 4V... nothing against St. Nick's, who have been the only 4V game in town, but not a fan o...

Personally I'm just looking forward to the Yojumbo when/if it comes out. I really hope it stays true to the Yojimbo 2 ergonomics and overall look.
+1 yojumbo!

Re: What's wrong with S30V?

What'd you do that made your S30V chip? Spyderco or a different brand? Factory edge or reprofiled? Not the person you directed this at, but... My first S30V knife chipped. It was a PM1. The tip (~2-3 mm) broke off when I dropped it accidently on a hardwood floor. Stuck the landing :) But that was n...

Re: What's wrong with S30V?

Not much to add, because this has all been said: There is nothing "wrong" with S30V. If there is a model that I really like and it is only likely to be available in S30V, then the steel is not a deterrent. BUT, I have enough knives and a knife has to really offer something I don't already ...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

I put in a pre-order at KnifeWorks 10 minutes ago. Now they’ve taken that option off the page. If you just put in a pre-order today I would not bank on getting one. Pre-orders are great if you get in early but, depending on anticipated demand, I wouldn't bother after a couple days. I would definite...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

I have a lot of knives, mostly spydercos for folders, and lots of spyderco steels. But I find myself always coming back the same steels (and models). 1. Cruwear. Holds an edge reasonably well, but easy to sharpen, tough, reasonably stainless. If I only had one option, I'd be happy with this one. 2. ...

Re: Rusty Waterway - Your Thoughts

I think this is an excellent general use design that would work great for non-salt purposes with other steels. I think all the negativity has more to do with the THREAD's title, not the [only] the name of the knife. Ain't no one here who wants a rusty knife :) That was a reaction-leading title! If i...

Re: Native Chief in CRUWEAR???

I'd buy one in Cruwear - I think a tough steel with good edge durability / cutting performance makes sense for a thinner blade. But I think max edge performance would be even better.

Re: What makes S90V so special?

As others have already noted, it holds a sharp cutting edge far longer than S30V and better than m390/20cv, M4, and most other steels. Maxamet might beat it in that regard, maybe 10V, etc. I have used my PM2 in s90V for a long time as my primary cutter of tough and abrasive materials (dirty horse st...

Re: Spyderco Province Photos

I don't have the spyderco version so I cannot comment on that, but the custom has great balance and the handle is very comfortable, does not constrain or dictate grip, and is the sort of handle you don't even think about when in use. If I am thinking about a handle, it is probably because it is gett...
