Re: Too early to be excited for SHOT Show?
Wow the smock is the first flipper I've ever liked. Can't wait to get one. That blade is beautiful, I love the disengagement.

Aggressively refreshing for one that strikes me fancy I saw nobody was posting a couple minutes after I saw it so I thought I would give a heads up hahaSpyderNut wrote:Haha! You beat me to it. :DTriggerThumb wrote:Autonomy 2

Re: Too early to be excited for SHOT Show?
I don't like flippers :< I like spyderco for their proprietary opening hole. I'm hoping they get some comp locks with deep carry and no pocket pecker

Haha I would say my answer is the opposite; I'd like to own more, and the few I do own I tend to carry all at once :pswigert wrote:Too many, not enough.

Re: Too early to be excited for SHOT Show?
KnifeNews has plans to cover SHOT, and I'm hoping to borrow some of their content to drop a few "new for 2018" videos (full disclosure, I've done work for KnifeNews in the past). As for what I'm hoping for, I'm hoping to see Spyderco drop something on the higher end. They killed much of t...

Which is why buying from reputable sources is even more advisable in your situation, imo.Josnao wrote:True, but when buying from overseas, there are always factors like customs, taxes and additional postage costs.Doc Dan wrote:Several of the better knife dealers in the US will ship to you in Europe.

Re: Question about QC regarding Spyderco Chicago
P.S. I actually just received a Chicago from Ozark source today. I used the code "knife15" and it came to only $40 with free shipping :)

Re: Question about QC regarding Spyderco Chicago
I had a similar experience buying from amazon. I will never do it again and only buy from authorized dealers. My advice is to return that one and buy one elsewhere.

It all seems too novel for me to buy. I just want the regular models in the new steels :}

Re: Restoration Project - Help Please!
Personally I would use mineral spirits to get all the paint off, soak everything in salt and vinear then scrub with increasingly finer steel wools to remove corrosion then neutralize with baking soda. Then dry it as well as possible, maybe with a hair dryer. Condition the leather, maybe a light coat...

Here's a pic for context. Hopefully the quality isn't too low to see. Everything is absolutely flush on this one.

Re: Quality control issue.
Here’s a pic of mine (sorry for the poor quality but it’s getting dark). https://s13.postimg.org/95zb5eodj/DE580565-5414-41_A0-_AB05-3_B63_AE7557_F1.jpg Thanks for posting this. It's nice to have some context for what to expect with my second one. Frankly I'm a little surprised all of the $10-$20 k...

Re: Spyderco Ceramic Knife: Your design input welcomed!
Marketing it to compete with steel knives... idk. But what I would like to see is a lightweight (aka liner less) design built with ease of disassembly in mind, and replacement blades available for a fair price. Maybe even a pack of 5 or so. That way I can cut all day, chip the blade, drop it, sharpe...

Cutlery Shoppe is a reputable dealer. They will take good care of you. :)
Now to hopefully acquire a deep carry wire clip from spyderco to go with my (hopefully better qc'd) manix!! :spyder:

Thanks!! I'm gonna give it a go monday. I thoroughly appreciate the support friend. Already ordered a replacement, hopefully cutlery shoppe is a little more dependable. Their price was $10 lower than bhq and kc so we'll see

Re: Quality control issue.
I guess I didn't want to part with my first love :D I'll look into returning to amazon. I've literally never shipped anything so it will be an experience haha. I will just have to be sans spyderco for a bit :( P.s. in my defense, I only ordered from amazon for the 2 day shipping because I had just g...

Quality control issue.
Hope this is ok to post here. I just bought my first spyderco, a manix lw s110v. I love this knife steel. I noticed when it arrived that it had significant qc issues, as you can hopefully see in the picture. I tried to ignore it, but the uneven scales create hotspots. And I believe it is in some way...
