Re: How many Spyderco Knives did you buy in 2023?
Voted 5-6 but I included as well other Spyderco Products, sharpening stones: Tenacious lightweight in Tan - Tenacious was my first real Spyderco in 2008 from my first proper salary as a student and it quickly replaced my Cara Cara. It was cherished and adored until it has been damaged beyond repair ...

Re: Spyderco backlocks : why is the stop pin an exception, instead of being the norm ?
Could it be that the stop pin is harder to retrofit on existing models? It appears on ‘newer’ models, Chappy and Sage 4, but may be beyond the scope of CQI. If and when the Delica/Endura range gets an update maybe it will include the stop pin. And a choil! :winking-tongue I wholeheartedly agree wit...

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
Love Hate relationship with Delica for me, still it finds it`s way in my pocket very often. I do love it but I do hate some things on the 4th Gen compared to 2nd Gen. It is peculiar folder, currently carry K390 Delica and Enjoy it a lot. I think Delica has most definitely place in 2024 and will have...

Re: New Steel Testing Method! My wife and the cupboard.
How I could have missed this thread! I am all for science, love this, please continue to keep us posted.
Perhaps Spyderco could "lend" you some interesting knife in some interesting steel for the science purpose. I think that would be well deserved.

Re: SPYDERCO EDGE ANGLE GUIDE
I do distinctly remember when that "Angle Guide" was in their product catalog. I never got the chance to pull the trigger on it regretfully. I heard that there was very little interest in that angle guide and it wasn't long until it was discontinued. Another product that they had back in ...

Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines
Very very interested Wartstein, I love hunk of a knife from time to time (Manix G10) but most of the time I prefer high performance slicer, which Chaparral is. Longer version of Chap would mean I would, most probably, limit carrying my Opinels, which are carried as ultimate pocket lightsabers for me...

SPYDERCO EDGE ANGLE GUIDE
Dear all, I stumbled upon discontinued product that made me very curious. It is, as the name of the topic suggests, Spyderco Edge Angle Guide aka AG1. Does anyone know, if this handy tool is ever coming back? Was there lack of interest from customers? Would anyone be interested in it`s return? https...

Re: Torque and lightweight models
One of my strongest folders is Pacific Salt 1, what that beast can handle I do not simply understand, still no blade play or lock rock, it is linerless and very simple model but somehow I do not fear throwing at it really ugly jobs. Perhaps try longer LW models, try it`s limits and it would be good ...

Re: Why Do Seki Models Have Lock Rock??!!
Now as for the reply to the original post - I have newly acquired K390 Delica, lock rock was very pronounced but since I bought it from abroad, I didn`t want to go through all the hustle with returning. Disassembled the knife and tried to pull out, by approximately two millimeters, lock spring, clo...

Re: Why Do Seki Models Have Lock Rock??!!
I think it would be the best to implement same solution as on Chaparral - that little knife still surprises me with it`s rock solid construction and performance. There is obviously issue with this and it would be really great, if there would be some permanent solution to it via CQI. Seki knives are ...

Re: Sharpening a bread knife?
Bread knives of other brands (aforementioned Ikea knife for example) can be resharpened, 20 degrees on one side and almost flat on the other, with a success. It might take a little bit of time to set correct bevel but I was able to do this with brown and white rods on my friend´s knife within 15 min...

Re: Straight Spine Squeak
@Sal, is there a possibility of getting a straight spine Squeak? This is a dandy little knife but I don't care for the spoon shaped blade very much. It has just enough handle so that it is larger than the Manbug and the blade is about the same length. However, that spoon shaped blade is a bit awkwa...

Re: What's your use for a Ladybug?
I use Manbug, which is not that much different in size to Ladybug. I absolutely love that knife, it is great for cutting jobs in nonpermissive environment where any bigger blade would raise unwanted attention. What use does my Manbug has during the day? Let`s see my yesterday urban environment use: ...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Finally got around to finishing up this knife I started over a month ago. Wandering About and Vivi inspired me to to go below my typical comfort zone of 15dps. I started out free hand on the DMT stones, then moved to my custom Sharpmaker at 12.5dps to clean it up and finish the edge on the CBN rods...

+1 on Yes, I love the feel of printed catalog and I do appreciate 1:1 photos of knives. My job is in the office, working in front of the screen, my phone is used a lot... after long day in front of screen I really appreciate a good book or browsing through printed Spyderco catalogs (older ones are n...

Re: Taiwan: Slipjoint
You know the factory that I think would make a good slipit in the 2.5" blade? Taiwan. My Cat is perfection, well, close to it. I think those folks would do a stellar job making an affordable slipit in the same size. What a fantastic idea! I am on board with some interesting slipjoint from Taic...
