Can't stand SAK's. Better off buying a good multi tool.

I am not qualified to educate you on what I think is a good Spyderco knife. All I can say in my opinion is buy one and try it.

Re: The odd thing about knife steel nerds
Josh1973 covered the point I wanted to make in his long post above, so I’ll state it briefly. Knife nerds like us who own thousands of dollars worth of Spyderco knives are supporting a vital industry leader whose products are available to all. A friend recently went to Colorado on vacation and visi...

Re: Affording the Necessary Stones for Super Steels
I gave up stones and went to Worksharp Ken Onion edition. Slap that knife in them belts on slow speed. Take your time and don't overheat the edge. And Viola! Done and razor sharp.

Re: Favorite movie fight scenes
My favorite fight scene will always be Bruce Lee vs Kareem Abdul Jabbar in Game Of Death. Hi, Josh1973. Thanks for sharing! Have you seen the original, extended footage of the fights from Bruce Lee’s original concept of Game of Death? IIRC, they were mostly test shots, and not what Bruce had consid...

Re: Dealing with high humidity
It's been a very humid week in the Great Lakes region where I live. I thought my knives where doing good, that is until today when I got out my Ukpk in BD1N. There's a small section on both sides that has red rust spots. WIN_20210713_13_06_31_Pro.jpgWIN_20210713_13_04_28_Pro.jpg After finding that ...

Re: Do you value inhouse designs higher than collaboration models?
I had to vote no. Love Spyderco in house designs. And I take nothing away from Sal and Eric. But their collaborations with Paul Alexander and other designers just opens more doors and possibilities. As much as I dislike CRKT blade steel choices sometimes. Their collaborations with designers such as ...

I like the Grasshopper
I just got this Grasshopper from Knife Center and upon receiving. I must say I am impressed. The build quality is nice. And this is the sharpest knife I have ever received that cost me $21. I purchased this as an alternative to the Case Sodbuster I sometimes carry when I am in the city and have to t...

Need some help uploading pictures EDIT: Disregard. I figured it out.
EDIT: Disregard this. I figured it out. I tried both my Samsung Galaxy and Lenovo laptop to load a picture of the Grasshopper knife I purchased today. And I keep getting jpg file too large. Even when I shrink it down to thumb nail size Same thing. Can anyone give me some pointers on what is going on...

Re: Hard Use (borderline abuse) Steel?
A good friend of mine is looking for a Spyderco in a premium steel for use as a working knife. He’s pretty hard on his stuff, but considering how well his S30v Manix is holding up, I reckon he would actually see some benefit from an upgrade. Here’s what he’s cutting almost daily: -sandpaper backing...

Re: Wow this is funny. Look at this guys feedback. Selling fake knifes even Benchmades
ECOP is awesome. Yes they got some negative feedback. But when you consider they have over 83,000 sales in the last year. 890 negative reviews are rather low. Not to mention some of those complaints out of those 890 are due to slow or lost mail due to the mess Covid created in the USPS earlier this ...

Re: Attack of the Clones
I would not doubt if fake stolen knife designs have not played a part in Cold Steel selling out to GSM or closed a few factories down. Most people buy fake because it is cheap. Be it cell phone cases. knock off make up. sports memorabilia. Knives. Records. or anything that has any value.

Re: Ganzo copy/counterfeit
Ganzo = Garbage. Not to mention generic and cheap looking. They steal Spydercos designs and were very rude and arrogant to Sal and the Spydie crew at one of the blade shows.

****. Sorry you got took. These clones today are getting harder to tell without vast experience on knock off knives. If you can get a refund. Do so. Or try to file a dispute with your bank, paypal, credit company, Etc... etc. Once again. Sorry this happened.

Re: Nothing Like It?
Yes, 'chonky' is a good word for it. I noticed in a BF thread (from years ago) that an employee of DLT offered someone a free regrind on another Ambush knife, but the cost would be no stonewash finish on the final product. (Unknown: the quality of work you'd get. Does a random DLT employee get the ...

Re: Byrd with high-end steel
I was wondering how much better D2 is than 8Cr13. I've been kind of on a cheap knife kick off and on recently. It seems like a lot of made in China knives come with AUS-8 or 8Cr13 (which translates to english as 440C :) ) or D2 is usually an option. Are the Chinese steel factories capable of making...
