Got to say that the Ti is the only UKPK that I would probably never buy. I am just not a big fan of metal scales (aluminium or titanium) ... they're easily scratched ... usually finished smooth/slippy ... they're hard/non-tactile ... just not for me really. My watch is made from titanium because I ...

I make it a point to always have three things on me. 1. Light 2. Fire 3. Knife I forgot my knife one day years ago. When I got home a spare went into the center console of my car just in case that happened again. It hasn't though. Now I also have one on my keyring so if nothing else I'll at least ha...

My most used and carried Spyderco would have to be a partially serrated Delica 3 I picked up in 1998. Carried it every day until I bought a Delica 4. Started carrying that in January of 2010. So my D3 gave me 12 years of EDC use. It still gets rotated into carry even now. I just have a lot more pock...

Carbon steel blades always make food taste bad at first, in my experience (1070, 1075, 1095, o1, m4, Case's CV). After cutting a few things, however, it's always gone away, including with my M4 Military and Gayle Bradley. Let a bit of patina build up, I'd say. Oh the taste doesn't go away. You just...

I started with a Delica 1st generation black blade that I carried a long time then switched to a Jess Horn Lightweight that I carried forever. I liked it so much I bought another to keep as NIB. Then a Micarta Jess Horn. I carry a Delica 4 plain edge now. The Spyderco bug consumed me 3 years ago an...

I was playing with my large Wegner and Paramilli the other day. :) Just have too many?... naaa! :D By the way, I'd love to see a pic of your well-used D3. - best wishes, Jazz. Actually it looks almost new other than the clip having a bunch of black coating missing. I used it a lot and carried it ev...

Sure, the G-2 steel isn't the latest and greatest, but it sharpens easily and holds a fair edge. TedP Yeah, mine is ATS-55 and it works just fine. That's why I don't worry too much about some of the steels as they change them. I'm guessing Spyderco will use something better than the previous genera...

Knives in semi-retirement
I carried a Delica 3 for around 11 yrs until January of 2010 when I bought a newer model. A Delica 4 actually. And then started the buying spree. My trusty D3 went into semi-retirement for mostly sentimental reasons. It was one item that I've used and carried the longest. Every road trip and cutting...

The Delica is probably my favorite EDC. I carried a D3 for over 11 yrs until I switched to a D4 at the beginning of last year. I met Sal at Blade a few years ago and mentioned I'd carried a Delica for however many years at that time. He asked if I had it on me. I did. He seemed surprised at the cond...

I viewed this forum for about a year before I even joined. I'll see about coming up with something to annoy all of you. :p In all seriousness though, it's one of the best forums for info and people not flaming everyone just because they have a keyboard and an internet connection. I've carried Spyder...

Good luck getting it. I totally got lucky and logged into a site that had just posted one for sale because they found it out in the warehouse or whatever. That was a few months ago and I got it for what they sell all their D4's at. I'd actually tried to order 2 but got a phone call telling me how th...
