Re: Show us your lanyards!
Depends on how long you want it. But ya thats way too short for what I like to do. You need more cord than the knot needs because you need slack to work with (something to hold onto). As for scissors, just make sure they're sharp. And for butane torch, I use a zippo, but $5 cheap one work just as w...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
Growing up in South Florida (lived there for 30 years) we had spoons with a serrated leading edge that were designed for eating grapefruit. They looked something like this but if you need one now, just do what my wife does and drop a spoon in the disposal and poof, you got a serrated edge. 🤣 https:...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
Hey BigStretch, Talkin' Story; We never made a production spoon, but back in-the-day when our "Road Warriors (Pitchmen) were promoting our products at shows and fairs, we had a Pitchman that worked for us named "Cookie". Hardest working man I ever met. One day, he was working at a fa...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
I dubbed mine the tac spoon. Sharpened on the flat and it’s not a “knife” but it’s a fun back up car knife. You could sharpen just on one side but if you have a sharpened spoon you only need a fork unless you cut tines in to have a Tactical Spork Knife. Yes, I have thought a lot about this. I do ha...

Re: Wire Clip Conversion
I know a number of you have seen Guts’ printed wire clip conversions in other threads. I begged him to sell me one for my Goddard, and bless-his-heart, he did. The Goddard stands proud in the pocket with the stock clip, which is fine for a work knife…but could be dropped further into the pocket, fo...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
Imagine the Forum six months from now? My Spyoon will not hold an edge. What am I doing wrong? When will the PDZZ-2028 model be out? Which angle is the best for eating coconut? Is anyone else's Spyoon corroding? I only use mine for eating Himalaya Salt Blocks. When will Spyderco offer Micarta scale...

Re: Most used VS favourite 🤔
Absolutely, and not surprised at all because Spyderco makes some really good knives of all sorts.
Spyderco Z-Cut is virtually always in use and always dull because of it.
Favorite? I dunno. Stretch, Manix, Watu, can't pick just one.

Now scale making is a skill I'd love to have. I really want good functional, lightweight set of wooden one scales for my Mules. They don't have to be pretty or anything, and actually, it is probably better if they aren't. It's not that hard to do- you should try it. Hmm, where should I start? Woodc...

Re: Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
I have those for my grapefruit. They suck and aren't doing anything to fibrous Mango flesh. I still believe Spyderco can do better. :)w3tnz wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 5:35 pmThey aren’t exclusively plasticBIGSTRETCH wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 5:07 pmI'll live. I thought you had a dust collecting system installed near your sharpening spot ! I'm tired, I've been making Tenacious and Watu scales all day and my mind must be full of dust :') Haha! I'd definitely do that too if it was easy enough. The idea of inhaling all that removed metal freaks me out. I lu...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
Lc200n is tricky to deburr ad people mentioned previously here. Stubborn to get off I've found the same for almost every thing stainless. On kitchen knives, bear in mind I'm no sushi chef, a little burr doesn't bother me as far as how the edge functions and it disappears quickly with use. You gotta...

Has Spyderco ever made a Spoon?
This is a half serious question, but... How about a spoon that is just sharp (or serrated) enough to separate the flesh from Mango skin, but also dull enough that you could scoop it out and eat it without giving yourself Joker face. Is it even possible? Is the idea too stupid to even try??? Things w...
