I pass on knives that I can't use as a lefty. S30V and VG-10 are both great.

Nothing is wrong with S30V.

M4 will patina for sure. My GB1 has quite a bit of patina from using it. Look at the patina near the Spyderhole, for example.

I'm very excited about this one. An inexpensive Phil Wilson design Spyderco made fixed blade sounds great. I've used Spyderco's 8Cr and it works just fine. Sharpens easily, has decent edge retention. I'm hoping these are available for purchase soon.

I picked up a Cara Cara 2 in black FRN a few weeks ago. Overall very nice for $20. The action is good, the blade is thinner than my Endura 4. 8Cr is easy to sharpen and works just fine. It's a good value for a user.

A fuller allows the blade to be made thicker, thus stiffer and stronger for the same weight as a blade without a fuller. Removal of some material lightens the blade while maintaining the additional strength due to the increased thickness.
