The topic was started by the knife seller who sold the knife. The hero of the story was already down there writing answers to questions

Re: Spyderco knife saves lives

Where is that reference to Spyderco Resilence? I cannot find it, at Russian websites only generic "knife" is mentioned.

Re: Why is the Rockjumper so great??

sal said they're working on xl versions of both also. :) I don't really want a bigger knife, I just want a bigger blade in the same handle :D Quoted from "Spyderco Byte Sept 2020" (https://mailchi.mp/spyderco/spyderco-byte-september-2020) " One of the primary design goals of the Rock...

Re: Why is the Rockjumper so great??

Hi Ladybug, I'm currently testing reaction to the "Handle Forward" concept with the Rock Jumper and the Leaf Jumper, I figured the two blade shapes should appeal to enough of the market to determine if I should continue to more forward with handle forward designs or not. sal Looks like th...

Re: Street Beat Discussion

I have two custom sheaths for my Street Beat, one a wide and flat sheath and one a minimalist taco style. Why would I want that? The taco style sheath has a tendency to rotate around under your shirt and when you reach for it you never know which way it is facing. The wide flat one stays in whateve...

Re: Street Beat Discussion

Not really. He still makes knives like that. Check out his Instagram fred.perrin.concepts I have beet following him for years ;) I haven't seen such knife (with so undersized handle comparing to the blade) nowhere. I like new designs more. I would like to see taco style sheath in the knife. About 8...

Re: Street Beat Discussion

There's a picture on the first page. It's just a mini-version of the Street Beat, essentially. Personally, at neck knife size, Perrin's Griffe is a much more usable design to me than a tiny Street Bowie. But that's what we have the Swick for :D I understood that the knife on the first page was made...

Any update on the Subway Bowie?
I am intrigued. Does anybody have more information about this knife or the original one?

Re: Spyderco MSRP Increase for 2021?

Spyderco invests in interesting, innovative, but sometimes also weird and gimmicky knives. Spyderco releases many new versions of knives every year. Somebody has to take care of all of that - NPD/NPI costs are rising. There are also problems with rapidly developed products. That is completely normal...

That must have been a real chore to drill out those pins!
The biggest problem is that the pins are spinning. Besides that it is not as bad :)

The date stamp in my old Manix is not visible without disassembly, but the blade is marked.

I completely forgot about the existence of the stop pin! That makes the difference (very noticeable for me)!
Native 4 looks interesting despite the lack of it :)

Improved backlocks

Hi
The backlock in Chaparral is absolutely the best one I ever handled. It is significantly improved compared to Endura/Delica family. What other Spyderco knives have the same lock?

Re: Cara Cara 2 pocket clip screw size?

M2.2, M2.3 screws and threads are extremely rare. You won'tt find in anywhere and I suppose nobody would used it in cheap, mass manufactured product. I checked the screws, in my Cara Cara Rescue the diameter is 2.34-2.4 mm, so the thread is (common) M2.5.

Re: S35vn on the Tenacious...what does it mean?

What is the point of manufacturing in China if it is not cheaper than in a manufacurers country?
Buck Vantage S30V, Kershaw Blur S30V, both made in USA, are cheaper than Tenacious S35VN made in China.

Re: The Next Delica

How could they improve the backlock? I have zero complaints there and I've carried an Endura and/or Delica nearly every day for the past year. It is easy, just copy the technology from Taichung to Seki ;) To be fair, Delica blade and lockbar are AFAIK stamped and moving to laser cutting and machini...

Re: The Next Delica

IMO what is needed is better lockback, with no blade-play - like in Chaparral or Native.
The blade/handle ratio could be better.
Also deep carry wire clip is a good idea.

Re: byrd lockbacks

I bought CC2 Rescue recently ans indeed the finiah of the lockback is a bit rough, but on the other hand the fit is better than in Spyderco lockbacks made in Japan. The up-down blade-play is very little. I am a bit suprised.
