Re: What Knife Did You Sell Today?

I’ve never sold even one, but I did trade once. I’ll admit that I’m a hoarder. 🤷‍♂️ 😆

Re: R.I.L. "Framelock" Question

Good question. The reason the metal is removed from that area on a frame-lock is because the lock bar needs to bend in order to engage the tang of the blade and it would otherwise be too difficult to bend if left at full thickness. A number of custom makers seem to prefer having the cutout on the ou...

Re: Special Knifemaking Project

Update: My younger brother made it home just in time for Christmas, which was awesome. We took him out to dinner to celebrate and then came back home to give him the new knife. He was so thrilled! This definitely made our Christmas a very special one indeed. :smlling-eyes https://i.postimg.cc/zBb34s...

Will you be making more in the future ? Great looking design ! Dan
Thanks Dan! It was a fun build. Yes, I would like to make more of these. Maybe try out a few other ideas on different handle textures too (now that I kind of have an idea of how it works, haha!)

Re: Christmas Trees: Real, artificial, none?

When I was a kid growing up, we always had real every year. Same in my wife's family. However, things changed after our local Christmas tree farm closed shop after decades of being in business. We purchased artificial trees and have been using them since. There are pros and cons with either, but it'...

Re: Your Spyderco Thanksgiving Day EDC, 2022

Air...because nobody asks me to carve turkey...due to past bad behavior. SWMBO says that Thanksgiving is not a day to demonstrate knives and discuss edges with guests. You are not the only one banned from the kitchen! :winking-tongue Dan Haha! Yep, I was banned from the kitchen a long time ago too....

Yes.

I will never have enough Spydercos, or at least, not the "right" Spydercos. I am hoping death is the cure, I sure don't want to attempt this in the afterlife. It's very difficult for spirits to apply for credit cards.
This. ^^^ 😆

Since my initials are JER you could, possibly, make a similar model and call it the JER-K. Why's everyone laughing? It's JER Knife?? :rofl * I'd still buy it. Hang on, I think you're on to something there! Maybe I should rename it?? :rofl Congrats to your brother and the knife looks fantastic ! Tha...

Re: Backspacers: What are your thoughts? yea or nay: explain

Probably depends on the design, but as a general rule, I prefer a solid backspacer vs. an open back with stand-offs. Just a personal preference.

Re: Special Knifemaking Project

Quite the nice package. Maybe you should add this to your current catalog. Thanks! Only problem is the case—or rather the cost of the case. 😆 It’d be hard to justify the cost, unless they’d sell them in bulk at a discount? I get that, but put the knife in your catalog, break up all the folders with...
