Re: Do you value inhouse designs higher than collaboration models?
I think that Sal is the greatest knife designer of all time and Eric has learned from the best so I guess yes, I do value in-house Spyderco designs incredibly highly. That said, collabs inject valuable new ideas, aesthetics, and engineering into Spyderco and I think they are really important to what...

Re: What’s wrong with this knife?
First thing that come to mind... it's not the drop point version. I really like the UKPK pattern and design. I'm saddened that the market can't support a more premium G-10 variant, but it's great that the UKPK comes in such an affordable option. Especially with that wickedly good S110V, which is alm...

Re: Endela All stainless steel
I love the pinned stainless Seki models. They are tough, low maintenance, and beautiful. I'd love an Endela SS.

Re: Para3 LW lockbar tension
I cracked mine open and bent the lockbar a bit. Works great now for safe IWB carry. Eric has a great video of the disassembly on YouTube.

Re: Very pleased with Pattadese (and Pattada.)
I got one of these on a whim as a package deal with something I wanted a little more. Turns out I never even took the other one out of the box. Love the Pattadese. Glad I jumped on the model despite some mixed reviews from others. It's so sleek and easy to carry, has that good splinter-picker tip li...

Re: Is Sal Glesser Irreplaceable?
I know not everybody here is an Apple fan, but when Steve Jobs passed, people slowly came to realize that his ultimate accomplishment wasn't giving us the Mac, or the iPhone, or the iPad, or whatever, but to give us Apple, which was instilled with his values to the core. I like to think that Sal has...

Re: Most Favored Spyderco Collaborator(s) To Return?
The Glessers are my #1 favorite designers of any product ever, of all time. I would like to see more original Glesser designs :) I think Gayle Bradley would be the collaborator I'm most excited to see more of. The GB2 is one of the most flawlessly executed knives in my small collection. It's uniquel...

EvilD, I've followed your posts around for probably a decade now. I always cherish the moment I get to open one of your threads to find out what mischief you're getting into.
It is also your fault I have a pair of Caribbean and love them.
Congrats on some much deserved recognition.

Re: About that food prep ...
Food prep is such a silly task for a folding knife that picks up lint and cleans nails and opens packages and might be covered in tape residue. However, when I travel (if I can travel with a knife!) I always bring a folder that excels for light kitchen duty. I spent a week in a cabin in the woods su...

Police 4 K390. K390 is my favorite steel and the Police 4 is the "best" model that uses it. It's like a Military, but easier to slip into a front pocket.

Re: New Delica 4 owner questions
It took me over ten years to come to really appreciate the Delica. Not everyone gets it, and not everyone gets it right away either. If you don't like it, don't let us talk you into it. I think the K390 Endela sounds like it would be more suited for you. I also think sg88's spot on with the RJ rec, ...

Re: Why is the Rockjumper so big?
As a climber, I'd still pick a SE Delica over the RJ. As a knife lover, I'd pick the SE RJ over nearly anything else when lots of cutting tasks needed to be done. Climbers just don't use knives often. If a knife comes out, it's because you're cleaning somebody else's mess, or you're having a very ba...

I had a Cricket SS go through a washing machine. It lost about 1mm of tip, but the everything else ended up fine.

I think I would cry if I had a K390 RJ and LeafJumper.
Wonder how much of a chance there is of these models seeing my favorite steel.

Guns or not I don't really care, but I think that a Spyderco knife could get a lot better placement than this.

Re: Domino 2?
The Domino is probably the only flipper knife I've actively enjoyed. I'd love to see a sequel. I'd also like to see a skinny version. The Domino is quite a thicc boi. Switching the pivot from caged ball bearings to PB washers and a stepped pivot post like the Sage 5 LW uses would allow for a thinne...

Re: In the end, who are sprint runs up to?
Wow Kristi. Super comprehensive answer, thank you. It's easy to forget how small Spyderco is when you consider its outsized footprint in the knife world and how many models are available at any given time.
