Re: recommend a spyderco to a knife enthusiast

Too many variables in the question but if this is their first Spyderco of recommend a Sal or Eric designed knife.

Probably a Spyderco military fluted titanium if they can find one.

Otherwise any military variant. I used to be a delica fan but the military gets more pocket time.

Should be up for another hour and a half, approximately.
Converted to JPEG and it submitted. It didn't like my PNG for some reason.

Thanks!

Re: 2020 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

Is the contest upload utility still working ?

https://www.spyderco.com/contests/calendar/

I get errors uploading the high resolution version. I've triple checked file size but it won't work :(

I've tried from two computers and my phone with the same results.

Re: 2020 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

Spyderco Subvert out and about for a hike. A collaboration piece with Nati Amor, and also favorite Spyderco of 2019. I've carried this knife through the chills of winter, into the rains of spring, and the heat of summer. This knife is massive but as a reward for carrying around it's girthful frame, ...

Spyderco factory outlet and the spyderco friction folder

Sal and crew, Thank you for running a great shop. I am in Canada but am fortunate enough to have coworkers who live ~15 minutes from spyderco hq. They popped in before Christmas and to buy/proxy me 2x spyderco friction folders (great knife). But it didn't stop there. The staff threw in a free cricke...

I will google purple heart but can you post a photo of some ?

A nice, deep, red burl would look good - as it does on anything !

Love it, looks superb. Has an air of quality / old school about it.

Id love an Endura in it.
I am considering a ZDP-189 endura with the same treatment, but in a different wood.

Just got to think of which wood... Maybe purple heart?

Spyderco delica with cocobolo scales

The delica is one of my favourite spyderco knives. I am aware of the pakkawood delica at knifecenter... But it still wasn't nice enough. - solid cocobolo scales - carbon fiber back spacer - deleted the hardware holes - deleted the lanyard hole She cleans up nice! https://i.imgur.com/mSvYWgHh.jpg htt...

Re: Spyderco Puukko 2018

Beautiful knives!!! I agree; the reason Puukko may not sell well isn't the steel choice so much as the style. I'm a recent convert to scandi blades and loving it. I need to start saving for a malanika knife. I contacted him and orders are a long way out and $$$$$$$$. Appears to be worth it though. T...

Re: Spyderco Puukko 2018

I'm no steel expert but as a happy owner of both the pukko and the pk70, i can say that neither of the knives seems to have problems with any kind of wood growing in Norway. :) But they are not my most carried blades so maybe there are some longterm drawback to This steel that i have yet to experie...

Re: Spyderco Puukko 2018

I do not believe s30v is an issue. I have an EnZo PK70 folder with Scandi grind - Made in Taichung Taiwan - in the same factory as the Spyderco knives. So, this is a valid comparison. Below is a picture of a 2' long board (6 inches wide, 1 inch thick) that was whittled into nothing. The box is full...

Spyderco Grail Goal Achieved

Finally achieved my Spyderco grail goal.

2x Spyderco Hungarian

One for me and one for my son when he gets older.

This one really is a hidden gem of a knife.

Taichung was on their game when manufacturing these; perfect fit and finish.

Re: Fluted Ti Military: A Collectible?

My attitude on this is, I'll get a lot more out of use than I will in whatever increase in value a knife has over time. I'd rather have heirlooms than collectables. This is exactly how I feel. I'm getting rid of my collectibles and sticking with heirlooms. Military Fluted TI is a user for me and it...
