Re: What Are You Reading ?

I'm a sci-fi fan and I just finished reading the Orson Scott Card's Ender series. Ooh those are some of my favorite books! I try to reread the entire series (Ender's Game, the Shadow Series, and Speaker for the dead series) at least once a year. If you liked the Ender's series/are a sci fi fan, I w...

Re: SE Para 2.

I agree with JD. S30V would be nice but if I could get an SE PM2 in XHP, B75P, PSF27 or Elmax and that would be perfect.

Re: American Sniper

I read the book and watched the movie, and personally I liked the book a lot more than the movie. The movie added some things just for the drama it seemed. Still a good movie though.

Re: New Knivesinedc challenge.

Looked over my knives today and realized I never really carry my CoPilot so popped it in the pocket today! Have had it there since 8am and no complaints yet! I was afraid it might fall out since the clip leaves a fairamount of the handle sticking out but no problems so far!

Re: Forgive Me Spyderco For I Have Sinned.....

My last couple pick-ups have been non-Spydies too. Got a TAD Dauntless and an MSC PT, and a Southard Tolk on pre-order as well. Although I did just trade for a USN Catcherman. I have been carrying my M4 mini-grip a lot lately though because it's a great campus EDC. Dark pocket clip and thin means it...

Re: Santoku

Mine is about 2mm thick where the steel meets the handle going down to 1.5mm at the drop part of the blade. Handle is 2.5cmm thick at its widest and around 2.1mm throughout the rest of the handle. Thanks! Although I'm looking for blade width (edge to spine) rather than thickness. The slots in my cu...

Re: When You Need a Fixed Blade and all You've Got is a Fold

They live on a farm and don't have an axe, hatchet or machete? Or some metal laying around you could file an edge on it ala sling blade... Nice pics though They probably did. But if you'd seen their barn and the clutter in it, you'd probably opt for the knife in your pocket over searching through t...

Re: Santoku

Can someone measure the width of their older Santoku? I have a feeling I will need to modify my current knife block or get a new one to accommodate my expanding kitchen knife collection. Mine is about 2mm thick where the steel meets the handle going down to 1.5mm at the drop part of the blade. Hand...

Re: Santoku

Oooh this is awesome news! While I found some new-old stock Santoku at a gun shop near me and picked up both of them, I gifted one to a friend and have been using mine in the kitchen and it is one of my most used kitchen knives. I agree with Deacon, it is truly the best knife I have used for vegetab...

Re: When You Need a Fixed Blade and all You've Got is a Fold

The Tuff definitely intrigues me, but I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Guess I better hurry before they're all gone! CS still has a few at closeout prices! That's where I picked mine up and used the free shipping code as well :D You can't totally rule out some of the past Spyderedged models...

Yup! I also had an SE Worker in my BLP just in case but I didn't end up needing it. I find SE to work better for grasses and reedy type material

Re: When You Need a Fixed Blade and all You've Got is a Fold

What this thread is telling me is this>>> if you go hiking, camping, fishing or hunting and all you have is a folder>> well then make it a big hefty, ridgid folder that can do a lot of what a fixed blade can do. This also makes a good case for more blades to be made in the H-1 Salt Series. Yup! Eve...

Re: I'll see your Spyderco and raise you another!

I'll get through these bugs quickly, then have a few more raises. I'm running out of raises (maybe 10 left), and soon they will be much more generic. Someone needs to get ready to run with their raises. One thousand raises is so close though seems so far away. Raise SGB2007 I must say, these past c...

I know some Hinderer guys have gotten through the TSA with Ti Investigators and other of Hinderer Pens before, but it isn't something I would risk.

Re: Country Knives

I picked up a few long-disco'd knives from them and was happy with the results. Order shipped the same day I bought it and arrived two days later, knives were packaged tight and secure and seemed new. I had no complaints, although shipping was $12.50 for me and it was just two Spydie boxes. I'd pay ...

Yup! Grandparents live in Los Molinos near Chico/Redding area. Although it isn't all green grass, here was my EDC a week ago.
