Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Picked up my first pistol this last Tuesday. Glock 19 gen 3. Ordered a Streamlight TLR 7 off amazon and it just came in today. Been busy with work so I haven't had a chance to get to the range with it, but I'm excited to get out there with it. Also just finished my AR15 a few weeks ago and haven't b...

Microtech Socoms

Hey all! Looking for objective opinions on the Microtech Socom. I have fallen in love with the looks of the Apocalypse finished models and am heavily considering purchasing one soon. Anyone own a Socom or a couple of them and want to throw their opinions into the ring? No bashing the knife or the co...

Re: LA knife laws

Wow. What the heck? It wasn't my intention to offend you (or anyone else). But, ok, if you want to ignore me, go for it. Even now Los Angeles is a vastly different culture and environment compared to SLO county. I mean, SLO county sheriff is actually quite apt to issue CCW's, even now! I am hoping ...

Re: LA knife laws

California actually has relatively lax knife laws. Im pretty much repeating others at this point but I will try to put the main points together real quick. I visit LA frequently because I have friends and family there and do a lot of urban exploring and adventuring with friends down there. I have st...

Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?

I'm not a LEO, but I do work for a fairly serious Hospital security team. The area we're in has a lot of mental health and drug issues and we work closely with local law enforcement. I personally carry a PM2 DLC which has been one of my go-to's for the last 3 years or so and a couple other guys carr...

Re: What "others" are in the mail?

Its been a while but I bought the first NIB knife Ive purchased in probably close to 2 years. Its an MKM Isonzo Hawkbill. Little Italian made hawkbill flipper on ceramic ball bearings. Think dfly size with a linerlock and a flipper haha. Very unique little piece.

Re: Spyderco Vanquest Messenger Bag Giveaway! [Closes 12/31/19]

Very kind of you sir! I've been away from the Spyderco game for a while now. Just starting to look around for a new one model to enjoy for a while since my trusty PM2 has been riding shotgun in my pocket for the last 3 years now. Loved the messenger bag as soon as I saw its release pics. I'm in!

Re: What number of Spydercos are in your active rotation?

One essentially. I have carried my DLC PM2 everywhere for everything for the last 2.5 years or so. I love my black Aqua Salt for extensive, hard cutting tasks though. Its handle is super comfortable to me and the serrations are awesome. Shallow so they dont get hung up on material, but aggressive en...

Best way to remove stains from DLC

Hey y'all! Long time no post. Back again to ask what you guys do to help remove stains from your DLC coated blades. I have a used protech coming in the mail this next week and the seller informed me it has a loctite stain on the blade. Never had loctite stain anything, but I figure it probably didn'...

Re: For SEF: Best All Around Shotgun

Love my 870 express magnum. Never a problem with it. Hundred of rounds run through it, never a failure of any kind. Swapped out the original wood hardware and 28 inch barrel for an 18.5 inch barrel and the archangel multi position stock and railed forend. Stock has basically no recoil absorbtion, bu...

BHQ playing dice

Hey y'all! Been a while once again. I still have my set of red Spyderco playing dice that I got from BHQ back in 2016 and I was curious if anyone else had a set? I looked all over the internet but only found one post on here around the time of the initial release. Can't find them on eBay either.

BBS Domino lockup

Hey all! I recently traded a Shaman for a LNIB BBS blue Domino. The knife is awesome, the fit And finish is impeccable and I absolutely dig the knife. There is however a bitof a problem. The knife has a little bit of vertical play. Now I'm used to it on certain lock types, but I've never experienced...

Re: EDC Fixed Blade Discussion

I was given a Miltner Adams fixie by my uncle a while back. It's a really weird blade, you sharpen it at zero degrees. It's blade stock is super thick, but it cuts surprisingly well. Had a friend of mine make a kydex sheath with a clip on it and I occasionally carry it in sketchy areas. It's quite ...

Re: BHQ with a hap40 Lum Tanto exclusive?

I've been loosely following along with all of this since the release of the blade, and also have not posted on here for quite some time. It was certainly well anticipated, and people were excited for the knife. Unfortunately when people don't have their expectations met, they get a little (sometimes...

Re: Best ways to gain horsepower and torque?

I don't know if you have the capability to do this easily, but putting differentials or axles with a higher gear ratio will give you more power at the expense of top speed and milage. A lot of 4wd folks do this to increase torque. Of course, depending on what gears are already in yours, it may or n...

Re: Favorite zero tolerance?

I've only owned two. One 0550 which had a pretty bad lock stick (gen 2, before the stainless lock bar insert) and my current ZT which is the discontinued 0200 which is pretty nice. I'm not sure how I feel about the edge retention of their 154cm though. Doesn't seem all that great. I love the knife o...

straight pipe, or did you do that already with the high flow install. did a speed shop do the performance tune or did you buy the plug 'n play? i'm curious as to what your truck dyno'd at with that 4.6 and your mods to date. did you get a baseline before the mods? Working on the high flow soon. I a...

Re: Best ways to gain horsepower and torque?

Dump the pickup and get a FAST motorcycle. It's all about power to weight ratio and remember, ride hard die free. :) Appreciate the suggestion HS, and I'd love to have a sport bike someday, but It's gotta be able to be a daily driver and off road capable. I'm the co founder of a local off road grou...
