I don't think Spyderco needs an assisted or auto knife. If you can flick your wrist correctly, you can extract the blade as fast as an auto. In fact, I really don't understand why auto knives are illegal. They really aren't any more dangerous than a regular folder or fixed blade knife.

I have one question: WHEN IS IT COMING OUT FOR SALE???? If the price is anywhere around $100, I might buy two; One for practicing, and one for carry. I am a complere Balisong ADDICT, and the spyderfly has to be the most evil, gnarly looking balis I have ever seen.
