The Chokwe it is for me. Supposing the binding liner on the one I had in a passaround was a lemon, I like it a lot. It's a time proven design with the :spyder: -twist and a RIL + G-10 with a FFG thrown in for good measure. Can't go wrong with that, can you? Ookami ________ SUZUKI BOULEVARD S50 HISTO...

What thehunt said.

I have also used Japanese waterstones on my ZDP-Delica with good results. I have the King brand variety in 1000 and 4000 grit and they do a good job and quick.

It was a G10 Police and a Civilian, both proudly made in Japan. However, it was some years ago. Furthermore, boxing might differ with the manufacturer, as does the stamping of the blades. I think it was Moki that had a different stamp than the other manufacturers in Japan. Ookami ________ Buy easy v...

That's one of the reasons why stainless isn't popular for bushcrafting blades. Stainless is a lot more abrasion resistant than carbon steel and thus harder to grind.

The mousepad method will convex your edge. While you can certainly do this with the Bushcraft, I'd rather not. The scandi-grind is flat w/o a secondary bevel or with a so-called micro-bevel for a stronger edge. For carving the scandi grind is extremely useful. If you wanted to use the Bushcraft as a...

RE: sawing action

I have found that serrations work best if you do not saw with them. Rather, pull your knife through the stuff you want to cut and the serrations will act like a number of small hawkbill knives, keeping the stuff you want to cut in contact with the edge. If one serration slips off, the next will take...
