Re: Forum Maintenance & Moving

#Team No LikeButton So.. where can I click to like this? ^ Joking aside, a like-button wouldn't bother me one way or the other, but a mora stable forum would be a win for sure. The disappointment when you've filled up your first coffee mug in the morning, sit down to enjoy some alone time on the fo...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Not really in my pocket, but I have a Vic OG Executive in my office desk drawer that is kept there purely for grooming emergencies. Today it was called into action for some minor surgery when my hand was starting to hurt and I noticed a splinter in my palm that's probably been sitting there since p...

Knipex is good stuff My most recent delivery of Knipex stuff: https://i.postimg.cc/XvcdKF7k/image.png Are those electrician's scissors in the sheath? I've not seen those before. Their parallel jaw pliers are indispensible, IMO. Yup. Admittedly these scissors aren’t a tool I use everyday, but holy s...

I’ll have to agree. I’ll almost go as far as call it a multi tool. So useful when you need to carry around tools for smaller electrical work, this one tool takes care of all my pliers work.

Re: Fixed blade EDC

Lots of great suggestions here! After some failed attempts to find a suitable EDC FB I’ve kind of put it on the back burner. I got the Guardian 3 very early on after getting sucked into the knife hobby so I did the rookie mistake of opting for the super steel flavor of the day, M390 which was the to...

Re: What do you carry hiking?

It depends.. On day hikes with the family and/or friends where I’m likely to make a fire or the kids may want to carve something, I usually bring a robust fixed blade, e.g. Fällkniven F1 and a lightweight folder for food prep and finer tasks, e.g. Salt 2. On backpacking hikes weight is more of a con...

Re: Spyderco hunting folder

I use a police 4 LW serrated k390. You don’t have to split the pelvic bone. It is long enough to cut out the rectum. I’ve never had an issue not splitting the chest either just reach up in and pull everything out. Are you worried about cooling? They’ll cool just fine if it’s cold enough. If not pac...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

8< —— 3) locking knives that require BOTH hands to open. 8< —— If the limitation No (3) would not exist, I would simply carry a knife in a size of Delica / Chaparral from Spyderco and be a happy camper. Maybe sometimes larger instead of a fixed-blade situation. Honestly - I have been on a search fo...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

No, I wouldn’t, but it’s not so obvious. Let me explain. Norway is one of those places that have very strict as well as blurry knife laws, and like Jim Malone describes the situation in Belgium, also here the only safe option is to don’t carry anything at all. Maybe because the law is so restrictive...

Re: How many Spyderco Knives did you buy in 2023?

Ref. my previous post, where I may come off a little hard on myself, I should clarify there is very little regret concerning my 2023 acquisitions. Non really... it's just how the numbers keep adding up faster than I'm able to sell off that I don't like. Stretch 1, Z-cut, Endura TRL and S2XL I've us...

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?

As far as the forum goes, there are many , all over the world, that have an interest in knives and edges, to some degree, that have no persons in their world with whom they can have a serious conversation about knives. All too true. I joined this forum exactly because of this fact , and I'm quite t...

Re: How many Spyderco Knives did you buy in 2023?

A quick search of my e-mails returned 8 hits for new Spyderco knives bought from online retailers. I also believe I got my pre-owned Stretch 1 in 2023. Maybe the Matriarch 2 as well, but it feels like its probably 2022. So I can say 9 with confidence, but there could be more. 9 is actually more than...

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?

It’s kind of a middle ground for me. One for life isn’t enough to provide the versatility I prefer when switching between different types of use, but I’m well past the point where I switch knives or any part of my carry just because it brings me joy. It’s all about the use case, and I usually don’t ...

I miss being young, stupid and sure of everything. Nowadays I can hardly answer simple questions like these.. The stats tell me that I prefer choils, I'm not totally convinced by the numbers because I know that I like a good forward design as well. And I don't mind a kick. Or other, even.. yeah, it'...

Would love to give it a try, but with int. shipping, import fees etc. the entry fee to play feels a bit too high.
