Appreciate the feedback and yes you are all probably right. However, just a thought, I bet the reception to the (at the time proposed) Byrd line was not good on this forum board either. Now look at it. I still think a small selection of Byrd branded torches would be a nice addition to the line. Stil...

Spyderco flashlight/torch idea;...
I was thinking the other day, the price of Cree based LED torches on EBAY has crashed the last 3 months or so. You can get silly good deals from China but its a lottery as to whether you get something that actually works, has O rings in place or is made correctly. On the other hand you get companies...

We all certainly appreciate the time, money and effort put in Ed! I suppose its going to be too expensive then to do, what with the current economic climate. :( Perhaps a table at next years UK knife show and sell Spyderco knives with signed boxes from Sal? That ought to go some way towards recoupin...

A few years ago I owned 3 folding knives from a well known hard use company. They were massively built knives, a virtual tank in the hand. I won't name names as the knives were so over built as to be clownish. I traded them for other knives of similar value. They were NOT cheap knives. I bought into...

As far as I know the only difference in any folder and a fixed blade is the joint. How well the joint and/or lock holds up is what makes a folder tough or not. Other than that any folder can cut anything that a knife is supposed to cut but if you can twist (a little bit) a folder while cutting wood...

I guess we will all have to agree to disagree. In a hundred years it won't matter if you had a knife with a super Kryptonite Unobtanium steel blade and ultra Photon Proton lock that locks on the molecular level. Some people don't have a endless amount of time to read every post in a thread due to h...

Spyderco UK visit?
Are Spyderco planning a visit to the UK in the next 12 months or so?
Would be nice to meet the gang again and introduce some new blood to the brand. :D
Any plans Sal? :spyder:

Serious question now. Why do you need to keep starting threads about every single possible aspect of tough folding freaking knives? Its artificially making it look like the three or four people with a hard use agenda have a lot of support. Can't you keep this discussion to one or two threads? Its an...

Thanks for the info NoFair. Sal, its a tough call, I think I will hold on to it as I have someone interested in an old Matriarch folder of mine. Hate to see that go as well but I would hate to see the pearl Military go more. Times are as you say, really tough world wide. Hopefully things will improv...

I own a few custom knives. I have one in front of me that has a value of about $1500. Or 7 Spyderco knives of good quality. Customs are great, hand made, fit and finish is excellent. However... Would you abuse a knife like that? I would feel bad abusing a Byrd knife. Because to me, they are all tool...
