I have had great experiences with Cutleryshoppe, knifeworks, gpknives, howes , bladehq, nationalknives , and knifeoutlet. I can personally recommend those. I would add newgraham as a decent one. Some may not like to, but I check Amazon too when I am looking around and have bought a few from them, n...

To me, the biggest detriment to the military's functionality is the finger choil. Unlike the pm2, the military choil is somewhat small/shallow and uncomfortable. I find it ironic that I use the choil on the smaller pm2 much more than on the big Millie. An unfortunate reality since a knife the size ...

I did try that, just didn't like sitting on it. I do see that a lot with Military's, and it makes sense.

Same here. I'm not sure why people get so hung up on one or the other. My Military is used tip down only because that's the only option. I will not carry my Para2 tip down, because it looks stupid because the screw holes are so close to the top of the handle and the edge of the top of the clip almo...

I developed some lock rock on mine after some hard hard work. I wouldn't mind seeing a thicker lock bar if that would prevent that. I know the Military 2 will likely have full nested skeletonized liners but I wish it would stay with minimal liners. I'd hate to see it gain any weight. I also want it...

We always get caught up in the size/cost dilemma. Truth is there are plenty of factors that influence MSRP and for the most part it's a pretty consistent calculation based on cost to make. Collabs are always special because the maker normally sells a similar knife for upwards of $300 but Spyderco m...

Military CQI

CQI is one of the great things I like about Spyderco. I know that the Military 2 has been discussed many times before. I am strictly talking tweaks to the current version. I have seen some pictures of older Military's and noticed some tweaks from jimping style to clips to a different pivot in the bl...

Foul, foul I say!! Below the belt...with no cup!! ;) I couldn't resist. Especially since I envy your fishing time. In related news I legitimately convinced someone that a Ti knife would float and then forgot to inform them I was just messing with them. Oh well, life lesson potential scenario setup ...

I checked out my Gayle Bradley which is one of my smoothest folders with very little resistance while opening and closing, and the detent ball is flat and shiny. That clearly indicates wear, but because it has worn in and with the blade tang it is a nice relationship. There also seems to be plenty l...

Give me a milled-tang compression lock or a BALL BEARING LOCK any day.
A compression lock can have the exact same problem. It has a ball detent that serves a similar purpose.

I'm a bit bummed by the price actually. The dog tag was definitely on my radar but I didn't expect it to be priced nearly that high. Too much money for what would basically be a novelty for me. I'm not implying that they are charging too much for what went into the design and materials...just that ...

Knifecenter has it up for pre-order at $320! I know others will beat that price, but that is a lot for a production knife. I don't know if I will be able to resist, time will tell. A few others are probably marked off the list due to price including the PITS. At least I will get a Dog Tag.

In regards to the clip, does anyone have one of Casey's clips and plan to put it on the Dice? I am starting to become more interested in it, but would have to have a deep carry clip. This knife should have had the Dragonfly wire clip.

Probably this tomorrow. I have never experienced a knife this sharp. I am still figuring out the EP, so I am going through all the steps to polish it. I figure I will start micro-beveling with the SM so I can have a more practical edge and a pretty bevel, but for now this stupid sharp edge is fun! h...

Hi JC, On the fixed blades, the best serrated version was probably the Aqua Salt. The other serrated Fixed Blades were never popular. Now we don't even offer a serrated edge on fixed blades. We'll probably make a toothy Aqua in the future. The Superhawk was produced mainly because of requests and d...

Looks very cool, and I'm interested in holding one to feel the difference. I'm wondering though, how much thicker is the G10 handle than the FRN handle? One thing I really like about the FRN Stretch is how thin the handle is, despite my long lanky hands. My dad used to say I didn't have hands, just...

Keeping with the unique criteria, I would say try a Tuff for outdoor beat 'em up use. 3V is pretty unique in a folder. Also the Military's size and lack of weight make it very unique and unmatched imo.
