Re: My Advocate review.

What are your plans with the edge Nemo? Planning to reprofile it at a steeper angle?

Re: My Advocate review.

Hi Nemo, you are probably spoiled ;) I purchased mine 4 months ago and I also encountered no problems so far. I like it as a slim and flat cutting-package in the pocket. After a breaking-in period flipping is smooth now. I disassembled the knife already but marked the position of the pivotscrew with...

Re: New catalog

Greetings Everyone! We are cornering the final lap with the 2018 Spyderco Product Guide Catalog right now. Once again, this year it is humongous-180-pages. We made every effort to keep the knife images as close to life-size as possible, per your input. Thank you for your feedback each year. It driv...

Re: Going Clip Free

I like clips, especially aftermarket deepcarry ones. I need the clip to put my fingers on when opening the knife However I do not seem to need the clip on flippers to control the knife when opening. The opening-technique is different. So I removed it on my Advocate and it works fine....

Re: What's your Thanksgiving Day Carry?

First: happy Thanksgiving Day Spyderville! We do not celebrate it here in the Netherlands but I am aware of it. I am still carrying my Police 4 in K390. It is difficult to knock it out of my pocket.......

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

To sum up our experiences sofar K390 is more oxidation-resistant than M4, K390 holds an edge longer than M4, but M4 is tougher. K390 is a little more difficult to sharpen and more wear-resistant, right? How about the Rockwell hardness on both? https://s19.postimg.org/cjg3acg67/20171120_122018.jpg 30...

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

Sounds all promising, the so far experiences with K390. I wonder how Maxamet fits in next to M4 and K390. I finally bit the bullet and reprofiled my edge from 38 back to 30 degrees inclusive. Took a while to get there, but my Police is freaking slicing-hairsplitting now...

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

I haven't tried K390 yet but I've had a few in M4 and it's one of my favorite steels, partly because of how easily I can get it really sharp so I find this to be pretty encouraging. You need to, brother. Like you, I’m a huge M4 fan, but K390? Even better. Ken Ken, I do have the same feeling; that K...

Re: CPM M4 vs K390

I absolutely love M4 and have used it extensively with multiple models across brands. However, the Police 4 is the the only K390 I've used. I reprofiled it to 17dps and enjoy the way it sharpens and cuts. Can't really draw any comparisons because I've only had K390 in one knife for a couple months,...

Ha, sorry... Two M390 Red, M4 CF PM2 backup, and FRN Chaparral all in transit. Really excited about this one, but with three PM2s in the mail it might be time to take a breather.
As long as it doesn't turn out in a divorce all is ok, right ;)

CPM M4 vs K390

How does M4 compares to K390? We can all read the ingredients from the steelchart but how do they compare in praxis?
M4 is my favorite but I really starting to like K390....

Re: What is your favorite spyderco?

Hi Mountainguy,

That depends on the occasion, but I really like the Military-family (Military, Paramilitary and the Para 3) but also a couple of collaboration-model. Gayle Bradley is my favorite and Fred Perrin who did the PPT.

Cheers,
