Re: which is your ergonomic masterpiece?

The Yojimbo 2. My thumb is always over the spine of the blade in whats called, I believe, the Filipino grip. This is how i treat all knives, and although the classic humps of spyderco blades allow this to varying degrees, it's nice to find respite in a knife that is made specifically for it.

Just one. My wit is usually sharp enough to cover what that one can’t.

I wish for the skeletonizing to stop.
I grow tired of diet knives.

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)

As a detractor of the pm2 i hope this transcends whatever it is about the pm2 that rings false in my hand. Also, I'm sad that designs are melting into each other. The inevitable hallmark of a successful business seems to be making one product in a multitude of colours and sizes. I miss the bambi-on-...

What Knife Did You Sell Today?

I sold a foliage green serrated endura that i bought from a flea market vendor that dropped it while open onto the tip right as i was getting my wallet out to pay. It was such a good deal i just shook my head as i bought the bent tipped knife that i would never use.

Re: Merry Christmas everyone!

My partners family had a nice dinner and I had a heartening talk with my brother-in-laws gfs son. It turns out not all the youth of today are phone zombies, and i left with hope in my heart. Nurture the children in this delicate climate, with a kind fist and open wings. Happy holidays all 🔥🔥🔥

Re: Your dedicated work/bench/money knife

I needed to cut sandpaper today so i used my olfa L2. And then i got to thinking: all I ever needed was my L2, i got knife fever back in 2007 when i accidentally saw an image of a benchmade emerson while researching multitools, and then it was all obsession and hording up until forever. I fantasize ...

Re: Manix jimping poll

The original manix reminds me of my beloved (and lost) chinook II. A little jimping on the thumb ramp, none on the choil cause its just an irritation and by GOD none on the body. I kick myself repeatedly with my t-rex like left foot for not getting a backlock manix 2 when they were briefly available...

Re: Days of the Week, Spyderco Style

SlipIt™ (or Slip-joint) Sunday could be a thing. You could do a whole bunch of specific model-, lineup-, or collaborator/designer-themed days. For Monday you can use: Manbug, Manix, Massad Ayoob, (R.J.) Martin, Matriarch, McBee, Military, Minarai, Moran, Mule Team. For Tuesday/Thursday, you could t...

B2201BBC-21CC-4BA4-B3D6-0B0E5845956B.jpegDon’t tug on SuperBlue’s cape, don’t spit into the wind… That's a version I wish would come back in a Sprint. Great patina you have there. Though honestly, would any exclusive or sprint on this model not be successful? I would trade almost any spyderco of my...

Re: Millie best user knife. Change my mind.

I could concede that the family is the best go to based not on what i want to believe but what actually ends up in my pocket, with the caveat that despite trying to at least develop a platonic respect for the goldilocks of the family, i.e. the para 2, i cannot. The military is nimble enough to carry...

Re: Did The Nilakka Ever Come With A Bevel?

Ok, thanks guys. Just caught one in my nevk of the woods and i was so excited i didnt realize till the buy it now button was pounded down that the secondary bevel might have been reason to give pause, though in all honesty the buy it now button would have been mashed whether i had noticed or not. Did The Nilakka Ever Come With A Bevel?

I remember there being warping issues with the zero grind, did any of them leave the factory with a bevel?

Re: Tool marks on clip for some new knives

I think it was one of those issues that was less urgent than a few other issues Spyderco has been dealing with recently. Recall they had to let someone go over a big manufacturing mistake last year. Not to mention, but I will, all the COVID related issues all manufacturers had to deal with. Some ti...

It seems like it will be a great knife. I'd just prefer if it had a back lock.
Yep. The backlock version is a lil beast. The CL version feels like a ring pop.

Re: why does the lil' native have minimal jimping?

Im waiting for the skeletonized liners to get jimping, to secure the dust that finds its way into those unnecessary topographical exercises. And why don’t we jimp the spyder hole and lanyard hole, to give a more secure opening and string grip. ****, lets jimp the edge, to get a more secure cut. Wait...
