Zhyla, I used to be just like you. Preferred tip down since the Spydie hole was right near thumb upon removal from pocket, but couple instances of having blades open accidentally in pocket cured me of tip down. Mostly, it happened with knives that dont have strong detents or a backspring to keep the...

I voted Other: The two best gent's folders are: Air - small, lightweight, NKP, sharper than heck, etc. Chaparral - small, CF, deep carry clip, shaper than heck (OK, all spydies are like this) My first gents blade was the Kopa Abalone Pearl - while I still love the look, it doesnt make into the gents...

I can honestly say that i will prob never carry anything bigger then the para2. And if the para2 wasnt so awesome i would prefer to carry something smaller Im right there with you on this. For 95% of my needs a Para2 or smaller is sufficient - especially when around people. I might consider carryin...

Im late to this discussion and have been buy nice/decent watches for a while. There are all sorts of levels to buy - the previous poster is spot on with the Patek vs. Rolex observation. On to the purpose of my comment. A suggestion on where to buy to get the best deal. I have purchased from prestige...

I always carry my Spin as a money clip. When I want another clipped LBK, I carry Navigator or G10 Dfly or Chaparral (IDK if Chap is LBK). When Im in dress clothes, I carry the Bradley Air. Other LBKs I rotate in are Lava, Meerkat, Kopa, etc. Too many to rotate effectively, but you have to have a pur...

Sigh... You can lead a horse to a hyperlink, but you can't make him click. If you look at the screenshot on the last page of the link I provided above, you can see that the knife in The Hunter has a sabre grind, so it can't be a Tenacious or Persistence, as those are both FFG (unless there is anoth...

Love everything about this knife except for the size. It is more like a piece of jewelry than any Spyderco I own. Can't clip it into my watch pocket as my mini SAK rides there and I need the scissors and file of the SAK. Thought about removing the clip and carrying it on a chain around my neck. If ...

Thanks for the Flitz advice. Will try that out this weekend. As for the maker, I could barely make out the words "Imperial, USA" on the main blade tang. No idea of this maker, but will do some googling - any rate, Im not doing this for valuation or resale - its just a remembrance of my dad...

Old Knife Cleaning/refurbish Advice Needed

My dad recently passed away and amongst other things, I found his old Boy Scout jackknife in a box of stuff. It is pretty well worn and needs a good cleaning and sharpening. I would like any and all advice on how to clean up the blades with out scratching them up. They dont need to shine like an SAK...

I just got my Air and now totally get the name. I knew it was light, but had no idea until I took it out of the box. Some serious designing went into making it this light. Great knife. It is now my go to dress knife since wearing a clip on a suit doesnt work for me and my dress Kiwi is pretty heavy....

Deal4, private message (PM) sent with some personal commentary. I am looking for a nice EDC and the Dragonfly 2 and Centofante 3 are both unique, nice knives that are very light. My commentary is a bit of a tweener. While I like the idea of more multi-bladed Spydies, I would really like to see some hybrid knife tool. Not a big swiss army thing, but just a blade on one side and a flathead screwdriver/bottle opener on the other for prying/screwing, etc. Very basic slim handled...

I voted yes, but would not watch 1000 times. I do like it when I see a youtube from the knife shows where Sal or Eric or Mike J or Ed S reviews the design of a knife they had input on. In some stupid way it makes me feel more connected with the knife. Good idea.
