If you have the FFG version they're a slicer, not a prybar.

Treat them as a knife and they'll last and last and last. Treat them as some other tool and you might break something.

Copying the knives has been going on for a long time (copying brand names was popular when German and French knife makers were trying to pass their knives off as the perceived superior Spanish brands). The Buck 110 is (I'm told) the most copied knife on Earth, and that was mainly by American manufac...

I do shop at local knife shops, although New Zealand has a limited range of companies selling over the counter (two locally). I do buy most of my knives online though.

Yes, the Manix 2 XL will be my next Spyderco (that or the ZDP Dragonfly). I don't know if I want black or silver blade though.

Completely genuine.

You lost your edge? That was careless. Where did you see it last? I found with the Lansky Turnbox I could change the angle it cut at by turning the box relative to the angle of the blade. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3704/9616973643_9856e7edbb_b.jpg 45° is a 50% reduction of whichever angle the rod...

I just sharpened my FRN Meadowlark, the grind is a little uneven (one side took more to get to 15° than the other) but polished up to 3000 grit it's extremely sharp.

If you sharpen on an Edge Pro I'm guessing that you'll finish the edge with your finest stones cutting into the blade in order to clean off any burrs.

So 11° per side with a 15° microbevel?

I admit, I'm looking longingly at a ZDP Dragonfly.

Must resist... at least until I have more money.

You are missing the irony of the "Cool". The seller used the term, and the OP used the term in mockery. It's obviously not a Spyderco, regardless of what it is claimed to be, it isn't even a copy of any Spyderco I've seen. It doesn't even have a Spydy-hole. It really should not be carrying...

I just bought a fully serrated Byrd Robin. I've not owned a serrated knife before, but reading reviews it seems that people like the little Robin with the teeth.

I'm still debating whether I want a Vantage Pro or the FRN Native for my first S30V (other than my Charge TTi) knife.

There are some in stock on Amazon right now, are these legit? Depends on who's selling them. If they're someone who carries a lot of stock including FRN Spydercos (I don't think anyone copies the FRN) then they're most likely legitimate. If they only stock Chinese made knives (and no disrespect to ...

I wonder if the counterfeiters monitor these threads, to improve their next batch?? If I were doing that, I would. But then, if I were intending to copy an existing design I'd probably go for the Buck 110, probably with a tri-ad lock (which I'd pay CS for). Nobody cares about those, and there could...

Edge Pro works when you want to get a consistent angle on both sides. Thin stones, as already said, when you want to do inside a recurve. Of course serrations require a certain special touch (and a lot of patience that I lack) but that isn't your problem with a plain edge. It almost might be worth t...
