Good call, man. They certainly get a lot of practice with the stuff, considering all the Al Mar knives they make.

How are things at Moki?

I'm carrying my C167 Friction Folder today, which if I'm not mistaken is a Moki-produced model. Every time I pick this thing up, it impresses me. Besides being a great design, the grind, blade finish, and sculpted G-10 handles are all top notch. It's the only knife I've bought twice, and it always m...

Lil Myrtle will never happen and is somewhat redundant with the Cricket out there, but I can dream.

Re: Large Lum Chop Job

Thanks man! I really appreciate that info too - I had no idea that those 3 were influenced by Lum. They're some of my favorite designers as well, so this makes a lot of sense. Yeah, actually Voxnaes did some very Lum Chinese customs recently with the model name Vox F8. There are pics on his Instagr...

Re: Large Lum Chop Job

Man, you nailed it! A couple of my favorite knife designers have cited Bob Lum as an influence (Jens Ansø, Jesper Voxnaes, Filip De Leeuw), and this would look right at home with some of their work IMO. Super useful blade shape to boot, and the rounded spine is icing on the cake.

I'd buy one.

I preordered the Lil' Lum, Lil' Nilakka, HAP40 Meerkat and Caly, and the Raffir Noble Chaparral. Gonna be a big year for small knives.

Re: 2016 Discontinued List

When do you all think some more of these will start to appear at clearance prices? I need a Hungarian and a Nilakka. For what it's worth, I love the Friction Folder. The texture and roundness of the G10 is great, and it's very relaxing to slowly work the pivot back and forth. Unfortunately I seem to...

Re: Sal what are the longterm Caly plans?

Just between you and me. Are you carrying Caly3.5 in Brooklyn? Do not worry your secret will be safe with me (us). :) Erm, yes. I think technically I was in Manhattan, Brooklyn, AND Queens today. I'm not the type to attract undue police attention, and I figure if LE wants to play fast and loose wit...

Re: Sal what are the longterm Caly plans?

Welcome to the Forum, It is great that you were able to fix a problem and have no hard feelings. Unfortunately not everybody as handy as you are. If my first Spyderco would be like this, it would be my last. With street price of $180 CF/ZDP189 Caly3.5 is an expensive knife, so I would have some exp...

Re: Sal what are the longterm Caly plans?

Got my CF Caly 3.5 in the mail today and was frustrated at first. The action was extremely rough, almost impossible to flick open with one hand. There was a lot of friction between the lock bar and the blade tang, particularly when the blade was almost fully deployed. I tried flushing the pivot out ...

Re: NYC Stabbing: Is that An Endura?

Hi from New York, It's a shame that this happened. Ankerson is right to bring up the description of the "8-inch" knife in the press. Most readers will assume that this indicates the blade length. This stirs up the atmosphere of fear around folding knives here in NYC, where police interpret...

Re: Question for Sal and Spyderco .

Greetings from Brooklyn, NY. Just wanted to weigh in on the aesthetic issue. My girlfriend thinks my British Racing Green Stretch is the most beautiful member of my inchoate knife collection, over my Sage 1 and BM 940. She ought to know, she has a fancy BFA degree. As for me, I think the Stretch's o...
