Re: The Last Gun You Bought

That Grendel would be an excellent deer round imo. My cousin has a CZ bolt rifle in 6.5 Grendel. Man, I'm just gonna stick to .308 - I've got plenty of it in both range ammo and the good stuff smk and even some Underwood offerings. I have a buddy that uses 6.5 Grendel in his AR's and he has a Howa ...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Sounds awesome. Now you've got me thinking 6.5 CM Have you shot 6.8? I have briefly messed with a 6.8SPC but I prefer the 6.5 Grendel myself. I would like to play with .277 Fury from Sig and see if their claims are true about it being better than 6.5CM. Until more companies make it and it is easier...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

I live in Bertie county so it's a big farming county. It's very rural and flat so I can find some places to shoot that are very long but when it comes to hunting I try to keep everything 300 yards and in for accurate and clean kills. Don't get me wrong I can understand when more magnification is nee...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

I would be willing to bet it would out sale the SCAR. I will probably get an PS1 then file the paper work for making it an SBR. What would be sick is a Bren BR in 6.5CM. I am looking to move my Remington 700 Mil-Spec 5R Gen 2 in 300WM then get a JTAC industries chassis with a 18" barreled Howa ...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Ok gang, here she is. My 2nd CZ Bren 805 PS1 These things are smooth as silk.......basically little to no recoil......you can stay on target all day long. And, they are built extremely well. She may be a poor man's SCAR, but imo and others, she doesn't give up anything to the mighty FN SCAR. The to...

Perhaps we’ve hit upon the ideal solution here in this thread: a MagnaCut sprint with titanium handles. Perhaps the ultimate Military one could make. :)
I would so be all over that. Right know I would find something to trade or sell to buy a regular titanium military.

Re: Millie Minority

I feel like crying now. I had a titanium frame lock Military. I let one of my so called best friends borrow it until he got a new pocket knife. He carried it to his friends house on a out of state trip and never got it back. My so called friend acted like he didn't have time to mess with getting it ...

Re: The odd thing about knife steel nerds

I have never forgot the steels I used when I was a kid into my early teenage years. I always try to remember and think about where I came from as a knife user. Those steels had some nice attributes which haven't changed to this day. They are easy and quick to sharpen and touch up to keen edge. They ...

Re: Spydiechef XL FRN Salt

I am a Spydiechef addict. I have two of them and I have had one or the other in my pocket for the last two years. I have said it many times before about wanting a 4"+ bladed version in LC200N or Vanax. I would prefer a titanium frame lock but I would be down for a titanium handled compression l...

Re: Bushcraft, Survival, Camp knives?

I certainly hope Carothers can find a better method for selling their knives. I'm will to spend the coin, but unwilling to jump through the hoops on their forum. I have always liked their work. I have never looked into what it takes to buy one of their blades though. I don't care for jumping throug...

Bushcraft, Survival, Camp knives?

Let's see them. This is my most recent purchase I ordered a few months ago. It's made by Sliwkosky Knives out of Poland. Jakub's work is super clean and well made. He has all sorts of designs in different size ranges. This one is in Elmax but he also uses Vanadis 4 Extra also. I don't know how isn't...

My Dad did that a few years ago. I got his Winchester 30-30 which was the one I wanted the most and his Colt SAA Richard Petty Edition.

Yeah if you look below the BCM you will see my Springfield Armory Loaded Operator. I still have it and hope one day I can have the frame and slide checked then rebuilt.

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

After a house fire in 2011 burned up this BCM RECCE-16 I went full AK but still planned to get another AR. IMAG0102_zpsaa35aedc.jpg Well it took me a number of years but I finally got another BCM RECCE-16 a while back. The Geissele S3G in this rifle is the same one I had in my Recce-16 that burned u...

Re: H1 is the perfect EDC steel. Change my mind..

This is starting to get far away from the point I was making with this thread, but it's really dependant on what you use the knife for. So, yes and no. As Cliff mentioned, maybe not suited for carving hardwood knots, but I bet that knife will break down boxes far past what most all of us would cons...

Re: H1 is the perfect EDC steel. Change my mind..

Only to a certain point. H1's toughness should allow a very thin edge, below what some steels will accept and still be usable as an EDC. As the experts keep telling us, geometry cuts. Last I checked the RC on H1 was 55-57. I wouldn't expect it to have enough strength to support thinner edge geometr...

With my background working on farms and in garages along with gunsmithing and driving 18 wheelers I have run into my share of stuck and tight fasteners. I found penetrating oils, butane powered soldering pencils and blow torches on larger applications along with a impact driver and hammer work wonde...
