IANAL, but my guess is that the law is sufficiently vague you probably wouldn't want to have to defend yourself on the technicality, presumably going through numerous appeals, etc. You would probably need a lawyer that specializes in this area in NY to answer the question for you (and to pay for the...

Civilian and Matriarch use the same number as well and they are more different (at least to me) than the Chinooks.

Anyone know if the boxes varied enough to place them further? I know it's never exact since boxes are easy to mix up, get lost, replaced etc. And I believe even Spyderco has shipped the same exact models in different boxes as new ones are released over the years.

Liquid Cobra wrote:Whoa. So....why aren't the clips coated in DLC? Problem solved!
Maybe too expensive? What would be cool, is to be able to order a DLC clip as an accessory item (if indeed cost is the issue, this would not raise knife costs for casual users).

I'm not aware of any generation 1 trainers (the earliest ones I can think of are the generation 2s with barrel bolt style clips). Occasionally you see them made after the fact by butchering a live blade or cobbled together from random parts (sometimes even wood or plastic).

The first aluminum Police were produced for several years, from '89 into the early 90's. All of them were all bare, polished, aluminum with flush pins. Polished or brushed? I don't believe I have ever encountered a polished ALU Police NIB from the factory. All the ones I've personally seen were cle...

They are the longer boxes with tabbed flaps on the ends. Inside is the slid out tray.

The original Khalsa is an incredibly beautiful knife and one of the most unique out there. It's actually one of several models that got me really interested in Spyderco in the first place back in the 90s. I haven't had a chance to handle the sprint yet, but I'm definitely looking for ward to it. It'...

Autoclave is between 250F - 275F (121C - 135C) for up to 15 minutes right? That is a bit above boiling water, I can't imagine FRN would melt at these temps, but I really have no idea.

Are there special considerations for the blade temper as well when autoclaving knives?
